Reservoir too warm any suggestions.

My flower room is hovers in the high 70's to low 80's, which is great. The only problem is that my reservoir is running about the same. Ideally, I'd want it to stay in the low 70's to prevent gunk buildup. I'm running an organic aeroponic system, so my sprayers tend to clog when the gunk gets too heavy. Any suggestions for keeping the rez cool without investing in a chiller? It's on the floor of a bathtub now. Maybe raise it a couple inches and direct a couple of fans on it?

get old working fridge or freezer not sure just a sugestion came to mind take it apart put the pipes in water maybe a mini fridge would be best someones bound to of done something like this look it up in the diy section or like nick said couple frezzing bottles water should do the job

Thanks for the replies. Frozen bottled water is a great idea. My res is an 18g storage tote right now but I've got a cooler that would be perfect, I'll just need to find a way to put some nice holes in the top.

I guess I could fill one of those Tupperware things from my res each day and stick it in the freezer over night. Drop it in in the morning. That way I won't have to fiddle with my nutrient solution every time I add a giant ice cube.

you may need to add nutrient here and there depending on a lot of things, you see by the meter the two cubes brought the ppm down a little just as adding water would. I generally use these in coolers as the bear suggested, works real well, add one of those every week in certain cases. never in other cases (when the cooler is in a cool place).

I'm sold on the cooler idea. I'll just use my hole saw bits for the round holes but I was worried about the bigger square hole I use to add nutes and ph correct but I just checked out my big cooler and it has a little drink size lid built into the main lid that serves this function perfectly. Added bonus is the drain hole on the bottom for easy res change! Now how to explain to the wife where the big cooler has disappeared too...

5 bucket actually, I think it would have done 6 buckets too but would have been pretty dry by the time the flood was done.

Yep, same jumbo cooler. I just need one 1" hole for my pump out and two 4" return holes and I'm good. Problem solved - thanks everyone!

Insulate your res with that silver bubble wrap duct insulation they sell at the hardware store. It's cheap and works really well. Wrap it around a couple times works even better.
