reservoir question

i was going to buy a basic big black plastic trash can to let the water rest in it for few days before watering, to get rid of chlorine but a friend told me that this type of inexpensive plastic is kinda toxic and will release particles in the water. he also said that i should use alimentary plastic reservoir.

Google Food Grade containers you will find a cheaper one. The answer is yes, standard plastic is supposed to do that to the water but with that said it is all I have ever used and I have no problems with them.

But for the record the correct answer is any type of food grade plastics.
