Reserva Privada - Sour Diesel

It looks as Reserva Privada have Sour Diesel in regular bean form :-o
Is this the Sour Diesel ive been waiting for?
I live in a country where I dont have access to Sour D clones and have been looking for an alternative for quite some time
I know what Reserva Privada are like they have some bomb a$$ genetics but is this the real deal or have they just used the "Sour Diesel" name?

I kind of looks similiar, the discription also sounds like it. But I'm pretty sure its just a knock-off. Dont get me wrong I love their gear but this is no EastCoast SourDiesel.( which I do have the privelage of having cut from the original mother):bigjoint:
What the hell I will probably get them anyway just for the genetics.

I've been wondering the same thing mate, maybe they're just using the "Sour D" name for marketing "Headband" earlier this year for instance (now "Sour Kush) but they are regular beans so I may just give them a go....

It says 60/40 indica to sativa which means this "sour d" is a fake. Everyone and their mother knows that Sour D is sativa dominant.

Yeah, i could be wrong, and to start i'll say i'm a n00b grower who has only had excelent results with Reserva Privada, So their seeds for me have been great, especially the OG 18. THAT being said, it seems to me that DNA and Reserva Privada have shifted to the business side for profit over their usefulness to marijuana. it seems they feel now is the time to cash out their industry. Maybe they are right and maybe it is from a business perspective. BUT it seems to me they are now throwing together strains with names just to get a market share in the seed business, and not "Becasue they ahve an awsome seed". This may be smart business move but to consumers like me it means they are less trustworthy to have quality on their newer strains. THAT being said i'm sure they will continue to have excelent stuff in their older and popular stuff. But looking at this from a business perspective it seems they are cashing out right now. More about production/sales then cultivation/improvement.

That being said i think ill wait until someone does a journal or a smoke report on this strain before I buy it :)

Just because a plant expresses a sativa characteristic doesn't mean it's sativa dominant. I've had plants that were 75% indica and had sativa type buds. That being said DNA has the real ECSD so I'm sure this is a BX. While it's not the original I'm sure they used it in the cross.

This is not the "real" sour d.

It is Original Sour D x Sour D/G13Haze aka (Sour Cream), then this was back crossed a bunch of times to Original Sour D until they were happy with the result. There will be a few pheno types with this strain, so maybe not so stable.

I want to get them too, but first i want to see a grow thread or 2. these just came out a few weeks ago so not much real info to be had, just the info I got from DNA. I know the closest thing to the real deal right now is REZ Sour D "IBL" I know he's been backcrossing his line for years now and it has been said his is the closest thing to the real thing, which is why he is going to be dropping the "IBL" tag and just be calling it Sour Diesel. Only problem with REZ SD is there has been many issues with herms in years past and his shit is usually over priced @ $20 per seed.

DNA didnt say exactly how many times its been back crossed, I dont doubt it will be dank but will it be "sour d" time will only tell. They make some dank strains but they also have been ripping off names this year, just look at "headband".

Another possibility for sour d I have been looking at is Dr Greenthumb sour d s1 feminized. S1'ing can give some really good results, i have reserva S1 OG Kush and it looks, tastes and smells like a real OG Kush. I dont know why they didnt just S1 the cut instead of crossing it with sour cream, that kind of turns me off having the g13/haze in the genetics.

I was wondering why they didn't just s1 it also, I have there og kush and og18, also there headband(sour kush). I have my eye on some of dr. Greenthumb's elite cuts as well. Maybe DNA is going to enter the sour d for the cup next month.

I see what your saying assasin about the g13 being in the line hopefully they bred that out of the genes but as has been said before only time will tell. I think I'll buy it anyway because I don't have any way of getting any cuts of It since I'm on the eastcoast and wouldn't know how to get any elite cuts but would like some more info on it just to be certain it's actually as close to the sour d as possible

dude, if your on the east coast your in the right place to look for the original in cut form. i was blessed mine in june from a friend of the original ny/mass boys. if you have anyone plugged into the northeast hippy scene, that would be a good place to ask. although, they can be very selective of who they gift these to.

I hear what your saying about the clones but I don't know who I would ask I live in the big city and everything has to be secretive so they would be near impossible to obtain that's why I want the seeds.

no doubt. ya, people can be very secretive with genetics, myself included. i had been looking for the ecsd for years and everyone that said they had it and would trade would have a knock off, or worse, not diesel by any means. allot of people that claimed to have had ecsd, have either had somas diesel, or some sd knock off. not that they were bunk, but i've seen all sorts of "diesel" being sold and the original cut was the one i was looking for. now, 5-6 years later their are some decent crosses and ibl's popping up and with the respect a couple of these guys have i dont doubt that what they produce will be the bomb, but will it be the fabled ECSD. gl with your search bro, and hope you find a keeper.

I'm in the UK, do you think i can get some exodus cheese, not a chance, it's not that easy getting elite genetics but i do fancy this sour D it's the closest i can get to the original so it'll have to do me.

Reserva Privada Sour Diesel - I have 2 females I started from seed of this strain. Both versions are flowering but one is 4-5 weeks ahead of the others. I grew the seeds out and made both mothers so I have many of each. Anyway on to the juicy details. These are immature flowers for sure but have a great smell coming through, I get a smell of fruity pebbles but just a bit of a sharp pungent cheesy/skunky right now. Very fruit dominant though. I am anticipating a good diesel variety and that is what one should expect when growing a strain like this from seed. It is 20 plus american dollars a seed. So despite all the naysayers with their talk of how it's not the original ECSD back cross should leave the negative talk at home. At least be fair. No it's not the original clone only form reincarnated. It's those genetics mixed with their strain the sour cream many times and then crossed back to their version of Sour D. Its a version of sour diesel and if you grow it and dont like it just say it's a diesel variety, like I am going to do. :eyesmoke:
