I am in week 8 with my Hemalayan Gold. I am growing in a grow tent with 8 CFL's. Water is 1.5 liter's every three days. I check soil with meter for moisture. Soil is premixed with nutes. She is tall and skinny. She has 24 bud sites, but my fan leaves aint worth a damn. I have solved the light leak that I had. I'm thinking I have nute burn and heat stress. Could you guy's hel out a starving amature? All coments and advise are welcome. I know I'm gonna hear get rid of premixed soil and CFL's suck ect.ect.ect, but I really do need help. Thanks in avance!:wall:

Hey Tighteyed, welcome to RUI!

.

You appear to have some stretch, long internode space.

Your CFls are only good for about 2", any bud further than that will not develop much.

What watts are your CFLs? You could get a 250 Watt HPS and keep the ballast out of the tent, much better buds.

How big is your tent?

ye mate another case ov wrong soil run water thru her till you see its seethru then just leave her and keep your fingers crossed and maybe then start feeding her a little flor feed in a week or so at half strengh but she need to go the nursery man maybe give a little tiny bit ov veg feed when you give the flower nutes again but not for a week or so.peace

I had light leak thru my exhaust port, got that fixed. I have 8 40 watt 2700k lumens bulbs @ a distance of not much more than two inches, maybe two and a half. I get my mail thru a military installation and incoming mail is monitored there a nice HPS may draw too much attention if ya know what I mean. That is the only reason I hven't bought one yet. My tent is 5 feet tall, 36 inches wide and 24 deep. It is a good size for allowing for light positioning. She is still growing, just seems that the leaves aren't developing properly.

id say the soil locking out valuable nutrients so the plants sorta morphing lol im not a 100% on that but thats what id say thats why its always best to use a soil that hold nothink really in nutes.peace

Aside from the deficiencies,...(as mentioned)... you should focus effort on light placement. I cannot stress enough, how much difference that can make. The general idea, is to surround the plant with light, as evenly as possible, and as intense(close) as possible, focusing on the main cola, first. Ideally, there would be lights directly above, and completely surrounding the cola, all placed at 2" or less(as long as there's no heat issues), AND, one CFL at every single budsite, also at 2" or less. That's best case scenario, usiong CFLs. Now, it's your job to simulate that, as close as possible, using what you have available. Again, I can't stress the importance of having enough lights. Deficiencies aside,...that's the reason your plant is stretched, and has very little bud development. No amount of nutes can fix that. It's light, that you're need. :)

Only if you have to use cfls get some t5s instead my mate flowered under 4 x 24 watt blue tubes despite me telling him not to and got about a half ounce and they real good for veg And change the soil and hopefully next time you be much better off and t5s can be used for fish tanks reptiles ect so want stick out to much in the mail room lol.peace

I noticed you mentioned exhaust port...what about intake. This is a nutrient ph problem. With just an exhaust fan you are lowering the atmospheric pressure in the grow-op. Nitrogen disipitates faster at higher altitudes and can cause root burn. You will need an intake fan. The ideal atmospheric pressure in an op is 15psi or like at sea level. That's just one of the reasons the skunk grown on Vancouver island is so good, because the psi is naturally at 15psi.

That's a good piece of info to store away for future use. Thank you. :)
