So it is my understanding that when monster cropping you take a clone at 21 days in flower. The worst thing about MCing(IMO) is that the clone takes several weeks to root. Has anyone ever tried rooting one of these clones and using it as a mother plant?

RiddleMe has I believe, (he invented the term cause it makes the clones look crazy.)

Mine usually root quickly but take a bit to revert back t veg.

My question is about using one of those as a mother....

You can clone off of them fine. I prefer them as mothers as you have many more growth points for the same height plant.

I had a few do this very thing, I took a couple cutting a little late in the season off an outdoor plant. all my clones take a little longer to root due to cooler temps, but the 2 that survived, turned into monsters. I fitting term, tho i didnt know it at the time.

They do work. Out of every bud comes branches if it takes. You may get two,three,four,ten, who knows. You need to leave a bud on a plant near the bottom is best IMO. Give it nitrogen and light 24/7 until it comes back.
