I am a bible toter!! before you guys close out this thread, recognize I mean the MJ grow bible.

The Cannabis Grow Bible - By Greg Green 2nd Ed. to be exact

I do indeed trust this man and his teachings, but I was curious to what some of you out there thought about a few things.

"Now take the can and place it in a cool dark place, everyday open the lid for a few hours (six hours is good) the seal it again. Also move the bud around every couple of days. This is the most common curing technique and it work the best. Bud that is cured well smokes the best. Give the canning process three to four weeks before sampling your goods. Eight week old bud can smoke etremely well, and year old bud is vintage stuff and can/has lost potency."

"Fresh bud (eight weeks canned curing) is the pinnacle point of cured bud. After that thc cannabinoids rapidly change composition and lose potency. Fresh bud is far better then aged bud."

- Above he says open jars (cans to him) about six hours a day. I understand one needs to burp the jars and let fresh air in everyday but is six hours too much. Obviously The man wrote a book and is totally credible, but I have heard people say minutes, and take all the bud out, I have heard hours just leave the lid open, and many other things. What do you thin of this? and What do you actually do?

- He also states move the bud around every few days....Is it bad to move the bud around everyday? If one does it daily am I knocking off too many trichs or hurting the buds at all, just gentle shake to move everything around?

-Say I broke up that six hours into three increments of two hours. So in intervals in the duration of the day I open, shake around, then let sit open for two hours and then close...repeat two more times in that day. What are your thoughts on this process. And has anyone done anything similar. What have you guys done.

-I have also heard of people doing more of this in the first week or two and cutting back as time goes on. Would it be better to try this out for the first week or so and slowly cut back to twice or once a day as well as cut back the (open lid) time as well?

"By opening and clsing the can in different intervals you can control how damop you want your bud to be."

-Is there a set formula to ensure spongy sticky nugs that are cured properly too, or does the strain determine how sticky the bud can get?

Please address or quote the question you are answering if possible, if not make sure I understand What is being answered. So what you folks think about all of this?

+++rep for solid answers and on top of answers to any of these I would love to know exactly what process you guys used!

PEACE & LOVE RIU

those books are like any other info you get anywhere else just use what works for your situation

try and stop my from squeezing my buds when they start ripening , i can't keep my hands off ,and still wind up with great buds when they finish .....rob

I have the Greg Green Bible and do believe that Jorges is better, only because it is more up to date and has 500 pages of pics

My favorite book is Mel Franks Insiders Guide
http://www.amazon.com/Marijuana-Growers-Insiders-Guide-Frank/dp/0929349008

As for curing, everything that you will read will basically give you info to be able to properly deal with your own situation, as it is different for everyone, kinda like the footprint of no two gardens is the same

your conditions will vary from mine for example, you simply need to know that once you jar your harvest it will wet up again and taking the buds out for a bit or moving them around helps with this process but actual times vary as do conditions so you need to learn how to read em and adapt to your situation

The more you research and read the more opinions you have and therefore the more info to use in your arsenal of tools to deal with things, I would never advise taking one bit of info as gospel without verifying it
