removal of fan leaves

hey guys just wondering if it is bad for or if you shouldn't remove those big fan leaves. I have four plants in veg and one towers over the rest and is really wide and bushy, and kinda blocking a little bit of light from the others, so should I remove a few of the lower really big ones and if so where should I cut? where the stem from the leaf meets the main stem or just cut where the stem reaches the actual leaf? help would be much appreciated. cheers guys happy toking:peace::weed:

Is it possible to tie it down and get it out of the way? I do that with all of my grows near the end to allow lower light penetration. I do remove the odd leaf if necessary but sparingly.

does it hurt you if we cut a toe or a finger off?? the big leaves are just as important as every leave on the plant.. yes you can cut them and get away with it but in the long run the more you cut off your plant the longer it takes to re-heal and cuts from bud production or growth production witch in turns hurts bud production..but it's your plant to do what ever you want to..

I would not remove them when growing in anything other than my automated hydro system, where plants get fed ~ every 18 minutes. IMHO, my plants sense that they do not have to store anything. This allows me to remove them and get more light below

I thought the sunleaves were there to gather light for photosynthesis not a storage container. Correct me if wrong and as previously stated i think if someone cut a part of me off i'd be kinda upset about it 😳.

Cannabis is a hardy weed. Do it. Common sense tells you why cut off our "solar panels"!? Then in a week you'll see a ton of new growth and a lot more energy being spent on buds. I like to start snipping fan leaves after fifth node...any sooner and it seems to raise male rate in my experience. Then, every couple of weeks snip some more. They seem to build a pain tolerance and start recovering quicker. There's only one way to know for yourself...
