Sorry I froze your post on ya. Doesn't take long to do a one sentence post.

So your point is why is Cl so bad if plants use it? I imagine it's a matter of dosage. Cities vary and the guy actually minding the process might be smoking a doob rather then doing his job.

The math involved eludes me. All they really need to kill germs is .4 ppm but sometimes will go as high as 4ppm cl. I Googled that.

So how that compares to the .1% in those nutes? Much higher I would imagine.

Cl will kill a RO membrane which is why ro systems have activated carbon prefilters. So RO water will be free of cl. I suppose they could add some after treatment...but I've never heard of it.
