So my wife commented that she smelled a skunk under the house yesterday. Needless to say I finally got around to installing the ozone generator last night. :)

I plugged this little $18 unit into a cycle timer (1 min on, 1 min off) with the tube inserted into the mouth of the outlet duct. No more skunk under the house. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015ZHV9PC

I smell pine, diesel, fresh dirt, maybe a little citrus. It definitely smells awesome. My wife was way off with the skunk! :) She's never smelled fresh pot, thankfully.

Here's a closeup I just took...

Not fattening up as quick as I expected. But hopefully she'll blow up in the next few weeks.

So, PH dropped from 5.8 to 5.4 over the last 24 hours. Brought it back in line with some PH Up - brand new bottle since up to this point I haven't had to use it.

Nothing changed, nothing added to the res, plant looks healthy, any ideas what would cause a heretofore rising PH to suddenly reverse direction 5 weeks into flower? Normal? Or a potential indication that trouble might be brewing?

How's your ppms looking? If they are rising your plants are eating less so it's time for a res change with less ppms of nutrients.

PPM is currently at 740, 110 lower than it was right after the last flush three days ago. This is with constant top up and a 15 gallon res. The meter says about 2 gallons of water added since Sunday. PH out of the tap is 7.2.

110 lower? Now that's saying that they are hungrier than you are feeding them, bump up ppms a bit and monitor. You want your ppms to plateau and stay steady for a while, mine will usually lock in on a number and stay there for 2-3 weeks before it moves one way or the other.

Ah, that makes sense. I saw nute burn on all the tips last time I went over 900, so I've been hesitant to go higher. But maybe the burn was from ramping up too quickly. Or the stage it was in. I think it was right after the flip.

I'll boost it up to 900 and see if PPM begins to stabilize.

Thanks for the input!

Oh, and ppm out of the tap is around 35, post inline filter.

Also, I did read somewhere that this strain (critical kush) prefers slightly lower PPMs. But maybe not quite as low as I've been running.

How’d you go with the ppm bump up, your plant looks extremely similar to one of my babies I’ll get a photo soon!
PPM is dropping at a slower rate, and the flowers seem to be bulking up quicker. My PPM out of the tap is now 125 so I was lower than I thought. 900 to 870 in two days.

PH still wants to fall very fast though. Any idea why? I'm holding it steady at 5.9 by auto dosing diluted silica, but it would drop to 5 in a day if I let it. The roots look fine.

Also, I added a second tiny dehum the other day. Temp and RH now stays right where I want it when the lights are on. :)

RH hovers around 70 with the lights off though. Is that something I need to worry about? Should I be concerned about bud rot?

With fat colas like that ya 70% is high. If you cant control the humidity get a good tower fan and oscillate it make sure its nearly hitting all buds..good air flow will help a lot. I'm in the same situation, 65-70% humidity at lights out.

Good call. I'll add an oscillating fan tomorrow.

Ph dropping like that isnt normally a good sign.Could be from adding so much ph down before you upped the ppm.
I normaly flush with an enzyme product when ph keeps dropping as it could be a sign your roots arnt happy.
I dont like adding ph up,it burns the skin if you spill some.

Which enzyme product would you recommend?

Just spent an about an hour reading up on PH drops in flower. It's super common for PH to start dropping right around week 5 from I can tell.

My roots look great, using hydroguard religiously, res temp below 68F, plant is eating and drinking, buds are still fattening up... so I'm pretty sure it's not some nasty bacteria causing it to drop.

Here's what I'm thinking... Since PH commonly starts falling right when nitrogen (acid) consumption cuts off around week 5, this leads to excess N in the res and thus falling PH.

I'm going to flush tonight, add just micro, bloom and calmag, (and hydroguard, of course) and see if PH doesn't start rising again.

Really appreciate all the input from this community. I can't imagine how people could possibly grow in hydro before the internets. :)

P.S. My buds are now falling over. Just bought a 10 pack of yoyos.

P.P.S. I fucking love my new Sensorpush hygrometer. :)
