Yep a break and practice what I preach some R&R. social media is corrosive on our character Foggy, me too, not the nerves with me it's more character and keeping my ego in check than anything else. I don't want to do the meditation shit there I gotta eyeball em and I'm retired. Just wanna write and have fun on RIU and stay away from the troll wars, cause I also like a good fight but it's bad for me. Hard to ignore hurt though, don't seem to have much luck there and I'm staying clear of those with issues online they can PM me for help.

I'm retired and feel I could do better things by writing not very good humor that nobody on the site reads anyway

I thought it was a community, but it is more like a gathering of strangers, the same dynamic does not apply as in a real community, there are more rules in the real world. It is what it is and lot's of folks like it, including me, but for different reasons next time around, tired of dealing with slime balls too, gets the stink on a fellow. but I don't like it when they hurt other folks.

zeddd seems troubled, can't blame a man for being pissed about racism, I was shocked by the stats in the states and there's brown folk where I live too and they face many of the same issues,, but is not near as bad and policy helps speed things up so fewer get hurt. hope it helps. I was never taught hate to begin with, makes things easier.

You sound like you are in the aftermath of a good couples fight where next they have exhausting and memorable sex. As in other sick relationships you haven't actually changed and will lose it again, apologize again, wash, rinse, repeat. I hope the good sex is worth it for you.

In any case, I'm in a great long term relationship and have no room for anybody else so just forget about me.

I swore I'd stay away from this shit, but here goes anyway and one of the reasons you know about this shit is problems and issues that people on this site have, it's what I used to do and I don't compartmentalize my mind as a stress reaction as many have to do to survive. It's all one to me, here and now. It won't change but will be by PM for those who wanna chat about it.

How to win a moral or ethical argument and change hearts and minds 101 (arrogant fucker)
If you want to convince someone on this site who has hateful or Trumper views, there is a rather neat way to do it, if you are mindful that is. Listen to what the person has to say and try to understand and care, try to discern their motives and what is driving what they say. Check and see if they have a heart by observation or direct questioning, if they do they will squirm a bit inside unless a big ego is protecting them from harm. If they do have a heart, then that is your opening, work on that sincerely and speak of things you can agree upon. Offer friendship and understanding and tell them what you honestly think, you cannot build bonds with deception, but by caring for others, it don't work any other way. Once matters of the heart are settled then we can proceed to debate and if they are on the wrong side of a morally and unethical position, then you can start with gentle persuasion, but ya can't do it with some one who is pissed that's fur sure. Intentions are everything for the participants and your motives show through real quick on both sides of such a discussion. That's why winning a debate about moral and ethical issues is so easy to win with a Trumper, any child that knows right from wrong could do it. That's why you see so few of them here, the ones that you do are nuts, morons, trolls, or maybe even Russians, most are racist or Nazi's or some other flavor of asshole.

Good people with hearts always want to the do right thing, it's just that there minds are not clear enough to know what it is. The only way to clarify a mind distorted by hatred, fear, resentment or greed is through the heart, if they have one and aren't so fucked up that they don't know how to use it. Though, if you are skillful and put others first ya can open up a lot of hearts and in doing so change a lot of minds.

This my teaching and might end up on a thread in this section if @potroast don't think I'm nuts, dedicated to this shit. America's got problems of the heart and soul and I figure I know a thing or two about that.
