for me, ive been going with fem seeds the last few grows. i only grow 2 plants at a time, just this last grow i went with a (fem ) john sinclair " skunk", and a (reg) loud seeds "sour diesel" . the diesel turn out to be male. so i only finished out the skunk. she sure did enjoy the cabinet and 1000 plus watts for itself thou ! ive been using attitude seed bank for years, never a problem. also never had a prob with herming.
and i do agree, fems are for pussies

Once speaking to a relatively well known breeder he made me feel like fem seeds are basically bullcrap. I once tried keeping a fem mum, after 2 years the offsprinbg lost all the original vigour and yield decreased like hell too.
I also understand that if i had a seriously ridiculous genetic in stock i wouldnt want other ripping off my hard work, so they feminize so no males can go out and in my opinion the fem seed will lose up to 20% of certin characteristics the mother had, but this is an unfounded estimation. Ive worked with colloidal silver once just top see what itd be like and it just felt wrong.

I see, Its hard specially when you don't have the room for it but I think i might risk it, lol I've done ferm due to my poor luck with regs , last time I achieved 1 female out of 5 regs, it felt like a waste of time, but the only female I got was priceless!!

Some strains can only be found in fems some only in regs, its all about what strains you wanna grow. Who cares if some forum lackey calls you a pussy for growing fems. I would say don't go for the most expensive companies as price doesn't dictate quality.

Thanks I'll keep it in mind, and true I've seen prices that go up to 300 for a couple of seeds!! I mean I like having regs only because I wanna make my own seeds when I get the room/chance that way I won't have to spend money on them!

For instance C99 is a very popular strain around these forums and most people would say go with Female seeds C99. Well you only get one choice hahaha! You know what I mean.

But the cool thing about buying regs is that you usually get regs as your freebies from the banks and so you have more opportunity to find some healthy males to do some mating with. If I was you I would stick with one pack of regs that you think will produce a great male and then order whatever else you wanna cross it with.

Good luck brother!

Lol right , even though I've only tried C99 once but never grew it myself, I'd consider getting some next time and thanks for the tip, I'm planning on purple train wreck X Skunk #1 but who knows I might find a better male in my freebies from nirvana lol

Fems are cool if your just plan on flowering and smoking, but not so good for breeding. The clone issue I haven't encountered from a mothered fem. I've had a power kush fem for three+ years and stayed the same throughout.

As for regular seeds, it is easy to get more females than males. There are a few tricks.
14/10 for the first two weeks after seed pops up,
cooler daytime temps more in the 66-68 degree range,
higher nitrogen in the soil than P and K.

I might be mistaken, it's been a while since I've cracked a bean but RIU has plenty on this topic.

Using these technics I usually will get better than 50% female to male ratio. Typically though, always more females than males.

Same here, I have gotten similar results. I use hempdepot for seeds and every order has made it through. Have only sprouted TGA gear though. Good flavors and potency but yield hasn't been there for me yet. Lots to choose from, and you won't know until you grow. I did lots of research though before committing, but I am full on addicted to sprouting seeds and hunting for phenos now and it's nice to have something unique to your scene. Breeding is interesting but for me would rather leave it to people that are heavily invested in that business. Worth risking that 50-100 bucks for some seeds IMHO.

I prefer regular seeds, but there is nothing wrong with fems. I find most of the myths surrounding fem seeds to be pure nonsense. Quality comes from good genetics and breeders that know what they are doing. Whether they are fem or reg really doesn't matter much.

I'm sure its a long time also expensive to cross and cross and cross again to acquire new genetics/strains, specially when getting your beans online, but I'm sure after you get what you want and you're satisfied it's all good! But that's not it, sharing it , it's the best of all I think of course besides growing it, lol but yea thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts about it!! Any strains suggestions for an uplifting high?
