Looks like they can make it man, Im happy for you. I went out to find a used dead refrigerator today and the one place I could find looked like a refrigerator junk yard. I went inside and there were 3 people, a skank bitch, a redneck punk and an old man. The old man was sitting by a heater holding his head. I told the skank bitch what I wanted and she said it wqould be $20 so I said fine. We went outside and she said "he isnt feeling good, he has an earache, can you come back Saturday".... WTF, they had at least 100 dead refrigs. sitting in the weather and they can figure out one that I can have... Oh well I guess Ill have to go back, only place I have found so far. Stupid fukin redneck morons.... Who in the hell would turn dowm $20 for a dead refrigerator, I told them they could keep the copper and shit....

took these on the 14th

I have noticed that if I touch the stem at all on the plant that my fingers stink (to the point the wife said something).

I am almost afraid to put them into flower

Looks good, yeah some plants do stink, my Afghan Special plant has almost no smell (yet). Might be pretty easy to put a filter on the air coming out of the frige. Ive got a couple of places that sell appliances that I can check out, I know they get haul offs, in fact I know the one family.

Good news, I called the guy I know that has refrig. place and he said he probably has something at shop I can have, he's gonna call in a few hours when he gets back to shop. I tried everywhere else. With scrap metal prices so high all that stuff gets scrapped really quick around here.... You used ot have to pay people to hall that stuff off, not any more. Just set it outside and its gone. Maybe I can get it going this weekend.

Hello all

Update day 2 after meltdown

2012-01-20_13-09-13_105.jpg2012-01-20_13-09-31_989.jpg2012-01-20_13-09-45_544.jpg2012-01-20_13-10-02_213.jpg2012-01-20_13-10-15_941.jpg

as you can see in the first pic she looks bad this is plant B (thank god for CLONE). The second pic is the only part now showing signs of exposure on plant A thank god for lst. I have washed the plants using only water (ph-ed) and a soft cloth I dont want to top the lst plant but i am afraid i might have to as you can see in the second pic.

Graz man on finding one for your self. I took out the divider for the frig and freezer to make more space for flowering. I am thinking about totaly redoing this frig I will be adding 4 13w cfl's today or tomorow (there what i have leftover). I can say a dremel tool works great to cut into the frig and plastic insidefor mounting fans and stuff make sure you keep the shelves inside so it makes it easyer to move the plants up and down as you need to.

Thanks for your paryers for my little ones

Update
Today is a sad day I dont think plant B is going to recover there are large areas of the plant now showing yellow and brown. I added 5 more cfl's today so i now have 9 23w 1600 lumen 2700k bulbs and 2 13w 835 lumen 2700k for a grand total of 16070 lumens they were growing nicely under 9600 so i can immagine the amount of growth now.

@rollin if your going to use CFL's i would recomend looking at aldi's they have 3 packs of the 23w for 4.99 and you can find hanging lights at goodwill you can take the pre wired sockets from for very cheap all of my sockets cost me 6.75 (pre wired socket at home depot 3.75) and thats cheaper than buying sockets.

I will update with pics later didnt want to keep the door open any longer

Okay man, I have most of the light stuff already, just need a separate veg/flower area. Do you have external venting on your fridge? What kind of fan?

the pic from yesterday

hello all
Update plant B is showing signs of recovery thanks to the gods for hearing our prayers. I have 2 3" square holes one in the botom where the compressor would be and one at the top. I am using 12v computer fan for exhaust I am going to add a intake fan for the summer but with it being -20 with wind chill here i decided not to have one now. I am using a cone intake air filter filled with activated carbon for the smell. i cant take any pics of the filter cause i would have to climb around behind the frig. I am starting 9 seeds today most of them bag seed but there from nugs so i expect i will get some good plants from this.

I will be towel germinating them for best results.

thanks frig

Hello all
Update day 5 after the melt down and plant B is starting to recover as you can see in the first two pics. Plant A is doing lovely as you can see i am LSTing her down to gow more out than up i was thing about croping the top on this plant now but i have read mixed results on this not sure if i should. I am keeping the plants 4" away from the lights is this to far for veg stage. I added 5 more CFL's to the setup so i am now running 9 23w 2700k lights and 2 13w 2700k for a total lumen output of 16070 i was told that this will be more than needed for 1 or two plants in flowering but i would like someone to chime in if the have experience with refrigrator growing. I will be placing them into flower next week. The plants are now 53 days old i am adding a screen today for a SCROG but i am still undecided on this would like to know if anyone can tell me how much this will increase the yeild if at all.

Thanks guys

Frig

In pics 4 and 5 i am trying to show what looks like preflowers anyone confirm this or am i just getting hopeful lol :)

Hello all

Update I have solved the heat issue for the light cycle. I am using a 12v portable car heater attached to a Digital Manual Thermostat from Honneywell is working perfect and the temp inside never drops below 72 now lol. why didnt I think of that before I dont know. I removed the shelf i was going to use as a screen and did some major lst work the big plant now has 18+ growing tips I gave them a dose of co2 for the first time last night and saw lots of growth on plant B the bushy one from all the cutting i had to do to save it. I am starting the 12.5/11.5 cycle on friday with the lights off for 24hrs before the cycle starts. I had 5 split shells last night so 5 cups have been started. still waiting on the last three to crack befor I place them in the dirt. I am going to flop the flower frig over to the 250w hps that I am going to buy some time after the first. I am getting the type with a stand alone balast fo that i am not adding a shit ton of heat to the frig the bulb comes with a vented hood so i will be adding another 12v pc fan with ducting to cool the bad boy down and i will keep 4 cfl's for side lighting. The first frig i thought would be a loss is not going to be so bad after a total cleaning i figured the freezer portion would be a great place to dry my crop now as i dont want to grow anything in there even though its clean lol. I will be moving 7 cfl's to the lower portion and making that the veg room with the two bulbs already in there I will have 9 cfl's in there.

I will take some pics later when I can

Thanks guys

Frig

Great stuff, Amazon has some pretty good deals for HPS, there is a 150w you can get delivered for around $80. I may buy one. Just curious, why all the 12v stuff dont you have power? Is the thermostat like one out of a house?

No not a power issue I use the 12v fans cause i have a crap ton from working on pc's (it is a hobby of mine) and they work great and make almost no noise and i dont want to have my babies get stolen from me again hence the stealth. Where i live there are a lot of Juvenile Punks with nothing better to do than to break into places to steal. I read a article here http://forum.grasscity.com/lighting/321592-thinking-about-using-150w-hps-dont-bother-heres-why.html thats why I went with a 250w and not the 150w I found this very helpfull for making a informed decission. Thanks man I buy everything Localy at a Brew and Grow store that is a few hours drive from me but totaly worth it. I need my medicine and am glad to have it Plus it is always nice to drive and see the sites.
this is the thermastat http://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-RTH111B-Vertical-Digital-Thermostat/dp/B000WEOQ6I looks just like it lol

Update
Hello all
I am happy to report that was the 24hr temp pic with lights off for 20 hours prior. I can see major growth and improvement on the little bush plant B makes me so proud. I am happy to report that the first ground breaker has arrived :) . I added 2 new 5000k natural daylight 1200 lumen bulbs to the mix and it looks way brighter. this will be a great mix for the veg room when I get back with my air cooled hps 250w light. I am so happy with the results of adding that 12v heater and thermostat. I decided for the old style as the wife decided the digital needed to go in the house LOL still worked great so far.

Thanks
frig

hello all
Update today saw major growth and have pics to show it I got to give the credit to Garden Knowm and his post https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/41024-cfl-proximity-foliage.html I can see the difference in the plant and how it behaves to the light being closer. I am maintaining a 1" top now and there loving it I added and Removed a circulation fan do to a 10 degree shift with a high of almost 90 i went back to the positive intake passive exhaust and back to the norm of 75.6 for the 24hr period. As you can see 4 of the 5 have shed there shell and the 5th is breaking ground. I can't wait to see the beauties theses become.

Thanks guys
Frig
