i was thinking of making a makeshift reflector out of cardboard and then wraping it with mylor good or bad idea?

bad idea... flammable material needs to stay away from big lights.

i could think of some material to use to build one... but when all is said and done you would be better off to just go buy one. Are you growing with HPS or MH lighting?

400w mh i want to build one because my light socket is attached to the ballast.

man you should not put anything flammable near that thing.... it will go poof.

Nice job with that slow cooker lid got any ideas for what i can use for a vertical reflector.

can you post pics of what your light.. all i can say is look around. trash can lids, cookie or cake pans...tabogins work fucking great if they are the old metal ones...

im working with this http://ericson.thomasnet.com/viewit...400-watt-metal-halide-temporary-light-fixture it doesnt have the protective gaurd on it anymore

what i do with them is seperate the socket from the ballast. this will give you more vertical growthand it won't be so heavy to hang...its not hard. there is two or three wires going to the socket..

Wow. Just look at the socket/fixture very close and follow mygirls recommendation to move the socket to make it easier to work with. You don't generally get offers like that every day lol
