Whats the cheapest but most effective way to cover grow room walls? White paint? White plastic? Got aluminum foil on my walls right now but is noise when fan hits it. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

you can get mylar emergency blankets from Wally World for around 4 or 5 bucks. Me myself, I ordered them off Ebay, got a three pack for $5. How big is the room?

anything but tinfoil or aluminum foil, they can cause hot spots and burn your plants, plus they dont diffuse light they only reflect it, and not well at that. white paint or mylar is the way to go. some people tape computer paper on there walls becuase its nice and white and will work well

Reflectix works well too. it is in the insulation section at home depot. a little more expensive than mylar but easier to use and more more durable.

anything but tinfoil or aluminum foil,
The problems with aluminum foil... I do not get... no problems if you do it right...
Like everything, there is a right way, and a wrong way to do something...
Hot spots really, I think this myth is over stated, maybe if you crumple it up on the walls...
Fukk, hang your cheap ass Tin Foil like wall papper... Use spray on contact cement like
Loctite Spray Adhesive
My walls are smooth aluminum foil...smooth... real smooth...over lapped aluminum foil...
Hot Spots...Really... not in my room,
Now if you want to argue {I don't] I am just pointing out, if you take your time, and hang it like you would if you were hanging wall paper, no one would get hot spots...
I want the heat to stay in my room, tin foil on plywood is fine, if you take your time and do it right...
Do any thing half assed and you'll have problems...
Now, if you want to talk about the dangers of aluminum foil: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art7739.asp
That's a different story... I don't let plants hit the walls...
Tin Foil and hot spots I think are a myth started by a Newbie that burned the fukk out of his plants, and his bromance partner said:
"...wow dude, don't use that shit, it's no good..."

For the best results, paint the walls with a highly reflective white paint or cover the walls with Mylar to maximize light reflection on the plants to improve your growing success.
tinfoil is a no no it sends light off at funny angles and creates heat spots ;)

the other problem with tinfoil sandbox is the way it reflects light. even if you have perfectly flat tinfoil it only makes the reflection worse. reflected light on tinfoil bounces off at an angle opposite to the angle the light hits it from, like a mirror. whereas light hitting white paint is diffused and bounces off in all directions giving even lighting. this makes glossy white paint more disarable for even lighting then tinfoil.
