cheers for the info phil... I have read your post and and loads of other journals from this and other various sites about the problems with short rider... I'm hoping that I will get lucky - especially as this is my first indoor grow!

Anyway guys/girls a few new pics of my baby - I'v counted a total of 9 bud spots on her - I was completley stunned to find her looking like this earlier - she's no longer looking like "Sideshow bob" She looks more like Cousin IT :weed: - again no pics of the little one as theres not much to see - very much the same as my biggest when she was 2/3 weeks - Another thing aswell, When I first undone the tent to take a look at them I got a big wif of sweet skunk, Lovely!! - close the tent = No smell - Carbon filter doing its job nicely! :D

I just hope the taste will be as nice as the smell!:joint:

Those look really healthy dude.. nice work. One of my short riders is over 2 feet now... he's almost 1/3 - 1/2 bigger than the other 4 lol... I've counted over 15 bud sites I don't know what to do with him anymore he's outgrowing the box.. I thought these things were supposed to be SHORT... hence the name, Short Rider.. lol. I've been trying to find some info on the finishing height of short riders... do you have any idea?

Sorry for hijackin the thread, your plants look perfect though man... lookin forward to followin this and I bet you will see some fine buds soon... I love the way these ryders smell... so sweet I can just stand in my grow room and inhale that sweet.. ahhh :weed:

Cheers pete...

I love the smell of these too...

I'v been looking for height info too... not much joy... All sites say is plant height : Short/Medium - At a guess I would say the average short rider would be around 20 inches with an odd monster popping out every now and again (Like your biggest)

I also switched to 12/12 last night - as its been nearly 7 weeks veg time!

I'm pleased for anyone who has managed to get short rider to autoflower under 18/6 the whole way through - but I'm going with other peoples experiences as thats what I'v done since I started and it seems to be working in my favour!

:sad:Damn man that's not good! The best results with big dense buds are made with light period 20:idea:/4:!::!::!: 12:idea:/12 is shit 4autoflower strains:!::!::!:
Thanks for your input Tony, although I respect what your saying - on this occassion I am going to go with the majority of the other short rider journals I'v read... I don't need to learn by this because I won't be growing another autoflower strain, I only chose Short Rider because Nirvana state that it produces a nice amount of bud and its ready to *harvest 9weeks from seed -which is clearly nonsense!*
More like 6/7 weeks veg and 5/6 weeks flower!

:peace::twisted:

I haven't checked these out for a while, they're looking great man. The color in the leaves is practically perfect, they look brighter than mine. good job so far.

If it wasn't for reading your journal mine would probably be nute burned to f*ck! LOL....

Another quick question Chem, when did you start with the mollasas ? I picked some up while I was out today... I know I don't need to use for a while though!

Hey RedEye

Grow looks wicked m8. Kind of glad it turned out the way it did too :)
Just to say that while they are obviously not auto's, I flowered out loads of auto's under 12/12 while developing my grow and they were all great producers. Good luck with those beauties fella.

Thanks for compliments guys - being an indoor growing noob you've just given me a little bit of a boosted ego! lol

I'm quite proud of them, but as I'v said in my last post, Chemindeuced has given me a little bit of an easy ride (Thanks again Chem, your Journal has really helped produce these babies!) :joint:

I am getting worried at the moment though, heat wave started today - just to fill everyone in - my 12/12 hours are 7pm til 7am lights on (if I had it on during the day with a day like today my temps would be hitting 36/37oC) :o
as it stands it stays on 27/28 I have seen it at 29 but I'm now freezing a 3litre bottle of water and sticking it infront on my oscillating fan which keeps it down by that 1oC which makes all the diiference - I also find my humidity is now at a steady 40% (Will this be ok for flowering? I haven't really got a choice in this heat at the moment) I'v never looked forward to summer ending so quick !! LOL
Anyway, I will update with pics over the next few days as there hasn't really been a real change, bud points slightly bigger but thats about it!
Thanks again guys!

looks good man, i want to keep up with your journal because my next grow will be low ryders/af
Cheers Tommy, ur more than welcome to follow my journal although I wouldn't go by my light or feeding schedule - Short Rider is not a fully fledged autoflower yet - your lowryder will be good under 20/4 or 18/6 for its whole life - and depending on what soil you're using I would say go straight onto flowering nutes at 2/3 weeks old but before taking my word for it, I would recommend finding someone who has actually grown your strain and learn by that!

Hey NorthwoodSmoker,

They are VERY slow starters - and I noticed from a few other posts that you was having problems with germination - 1 problem I'm thankfull I didn't run into! How did you germ them?
(I'm abit late with what I'm about to type - all 3 of mine were germed in a cup of distilled water with a bigger cup over it to keep them dark - all 3 sank within 24 hours - Sorry, don't mean to rub it in:-|)
I will be posting some pics later this evening...
I'v set myself a target for yeild... nothing unrealistic really - I think about an Oz and a half off all 3 would be nice or there abouts... (All 3 are Short Riders, just in case anyone was wondering..lol)

I wasn't expecting to change the light schedule from 18/6 for the whole grow as it stands I'v had to - I'v now been in 12/12 for 5 days... My biggest had nearly 7 weeks Veg time - my 2 smalller ones had nearly 4 weeks!

Is there ANYONE who has managed to get short rider to autoflower and have it finished in the time it states (9 weeks from seed)?? if so, I'd like to see it...

I would say from my own experience with them and a few others on here that they are NOT autoflowers just EARLY finishers! (and SLOW starters.. LOL)
