as a biology major we used to do experiments with different coloured light filters on plants. photosynthesis is more rapid under red filter as well as blue lights(exceptionally rapid) and photosynthesis doesnt happen at all under a green filter(which is why people use green lights to provide vision durring their dark period...you got me thinking and im going to buy red cfls tomorrow

Just curious, does the red paint on the exterior of the bulb turn some of the green light into red light energy or does only the red light get through...very interesting.

wouldnt it be better off if u got the cfls in the spectrums you wanted? Like 6400k for your veg and 2700 for your flowering?

I have some of the 2700s coming to suppliment my 400 hps on the sides of the plants etc while I flower.
