Start saving money to buy the permits and all the associated hardware to run a legal op. It's going to be BIG boys only and it will cost a ton to start up. And there is no guarantee that growing will be legal for personal use. Yes, it likely will, but don't count your chickens before they are hatched. Let's watch Washington and Colo and see how they do before we get all Woo hoo, legalization. .

Gavin Newsom is a strategic politician. I think he uses his insight and inside knowledge and his research team well enough before he makes any statement.
What im concerned about is backlash. Reports of stupid people doing irrational things & placing the blame on Marijuana. Regardless if support dies down Gavin Newsom will change his position discretely.

I was toking on some chocolate fondue & reading this thread to the wife. She mentioned that there are ways to calibrate marijuana concentration. My thoughts now wonder if BHO or wax will be the new scape goat. Maybe refinement will get better and wax is higher in concentration and dangerous to make. So if lets say weed is completely legal but now Wax or Bho,shatter ect is so pure and high in THC that it flowers just dont do it anymore.
I liken this to Peru and thier cocoa leaf bags. Its not illegal to get a huge bag of leaves and chew them for stimulation...but production of cocaine will get you trouble.

New poll just came out. Nationally 58% support. It's been thought for a long time that once that number goes over 60% national legalization will happen. Seems like that might take a while, but national legalization will happen with in the next decade or so.

That's a 10% increase in just one year. It's very rare public opinion changes this quickly.

Looks like Gavin Newsom likely had access to this info last week when he made his announcements.

This poll only consisted of 103x people. Not a large enough sample.

exactly ! This is why we need to keep our senses when it comes time to vote. I hope there is enough big growers and bedroom growers That don't have the cash or want to monopolize the whole industry and Vote down a law where the little guy can't grow his own weed and I just don't mean a 6 pewny plant limit. For me, Growing is as important as medicating .

No they won't.

The pharm companies are going to come up with actual drugs made from cannabis. The big boys will be people you have never heard of. Capital investors and such funding large scale grows run by either current industry pros, or college educated horticulturists.

Also, it won't take billions, it will take millions. The ones who end up on top, the ones who will be the McDonalds of weed will be the ones who understand business and marketing, the ones with MBAs. Don't forget that this is still just a business and it runs like any other business.

Of course they are. But do you think they're going to buy flowers from the capital investors? No way, they're gonna put together their own teams and go to town. Capital investors can't compete with that.

The pharm cos won't do anything without federal permission. For the pharm cos it's not about state legalization. And no pharmacy company is going to sell flowers or BHO or anything like that.

And you don't know how investing capital into a business works, apparently.

Gavin Newsom wants to be Governor at least, if not president some day. This will not ruin his career. It will make him the first nationally known politician to support a recreational legalization measure. This will get his name out there even more and increase his popularity. He's found an issue where the majority of Americans support but the political parties do not. This will be successful and it will elevate his career in the process.

I think it's unlikely Gavin Newsom supports child porn.
