Reclaiming my resin.

So I'm cleaning all my glass(3 pipes and a bong) by soaking in ISO and using a paperclip. I have a decent amount of some outdoor a buddy gave me so I ground it up and added about 3g to the ISO. Please bear with me. If you can tell I've already messed up, PLEASE let me know. I'm experimenting cause I got bored.

Anyhow, I'm almost done cleaning my glass and my 1/2pt of ISO and bud are black as tar. I know ISO dissolves THC easily, so I guess my question is, what would you suggest next? I've thought about straining through a coffee filter and then boiling off the ISO. I've also thought about boiling down the whole mixture, bud and all, and then work with that. I would think it would kinda turn into resin/hash balls?

Also, how could this be purified some to remove tar?:weed:
 
You are cleaning the tars and other byproducts of combustion - that is not THC you see in there.
There will be some THC, but most of it is no good.
 
I thought resin was smokable. It is, but man is it harsh.

Smoked it as a newbie, but now prefer clean pipe with some good bud.
 
You already fucked it up, smoking that mess would be the equivalent of smoking shitty resin from a dry pipe, with added toxins and carcinogens. That's why you research things first... Good job. :roll:

Finish cleaning your pieces and buy some weed to put in it.

Use the search bar next time you think of ISO hash. Just some helpful common sense.

Thank you for the honesty Benassi. I wasn't trying to make ISO hash, just cleaning my glass and wondering if there is a way to not waste. When I was a NOOB(about 20 yrs ago) I would smoke resin straight out of the pipe when I didn't have bud. I got high, but DAMN the headache! I just hate to see stuff go to waste and knew there was enough thc to get high when I was younger. Never liked the taste and HARSH AS HELL, but effective.
 
Yeah, unless you're cleaning a vaporizer, there is nothing to be salvaged except toxins and things that were filtered out of your smoke. Cleaning a vape however, smoke that resin, it's a good +90% THC... enjoy space.

Right on. I'm saving for a Volcano right now. I realize you get what you pay for, but is there anything out there a better value? I've only tried the Volcano. I have nothing to compare it to.

What's the best was to reclaim from bags?
 
why would you smoke resin unless you are desperate? do you eat the crap you scrape off a dirty pan? it is still food.

Not wanting resin as I'm not desperate anymore. Just wondering if it could be purified or concentrated. I guess not. I'll stick to cleaning the glass and smoking the grass.:leaf:

some puerto rican do, they like the burned scrapings from the pan after cooking rice. but maybe this guy IS desperate... ya know?
