What is the difference or how much difference is there between samsung 4k chips and say Mars 4k chips.
If you had say 500w of each would the difference be vast or would it relatively small?

Nextlight has the 3k/5k mix forever now and Nick is a smart cat with in house build & sphere. Idk why other than pumping the ppf/w value with 5k? ........I asked him before, never answered

yep mixing different k white diodes from the same manufacturer and the same product lines ie 3000k + 5000k gives no advantage in spectrum over just using the average of the two k's ie 4000k.

one time it can be an advantage is if when using the same manufacturer/same product is if you use two independant channels with two drivers for the 3000k + 5000k then they can be ran equally at the same power for a 4000k spectrum or you can run them at differing amounts and create anything from 3000k to 5000k.

the other time it could be bennificial to mix k's is if they are from different manufacturers and the diodes are based on different pumps or are using a different phosphor mix, mixing 3000k samsung lm301 based on a 450nm pump with 5000k nichia based on a 420nm pump will give you a fuller 4000k spectrum than mixing just samsung 3000k + 5000k or nichia 3000k + 5000k to get to 4000k.

I've a couple of mars light and they arrived 100%, it's the only packing I've had with wood in it for support/protection, I know that's completely useless to the op but let's not pretend the op,s experience is the standard from Mars it isn't ime.
It’s just shit luck. But I also doubt it’s rare. Things get beat up in transit all the time.

Hello fellow rollitup members. Yesterday I received my ts1000 and when I opened the box I noticed the driver was disconnected. Upon further inspection I noticed 5 screws ,and one of the black nuts that hold the driver in place loose in the box. The 5 screws are out of the light itself. One of the post that holds the driver in place is knocked out of place and loose. And there is a dent and scratches on the plate. The only thing that could have moved around it the box smashing stuff was the driver so what damage could there by to that?

I Know the ts1000 is a budget light. But I think it should not be delivered in that shape. I have reached out to Mars-Hydro in many ways and I would just like a replacement. When [email protected] responded this is their solutionView attachment 4958508
I've asked for a different light or a refund. I will update how it all works out. Guess I will have to buy a better light next time. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen.
hi friend, so sorry to bring to you the unpleasant shopping experience. there is some misunderstanding, I just confirm with website colleague, they told us that they consider the COVID and unexpected factors during the transport, or rude dispatch way. in order to avoid the same issue happen, so they offer a partial refund solution under the light can work well which can make your plants without no lights that maybe the fattest way. of course, a return for the new light or refund is also okay. either way is okay, just hope can help you to get it to be solved ASAP without affecting your plants.

super valid point, this highlights the differences of a nuanced approach to spectrum, lost on newbies and to some extent irrelevant if you dont have the experience, you will get that in time, but it seems to me that mixing CCT and promoting it as different/better is smoke and mirrors and likely to add to the overload of confusion about what light to buy
