really newb question

The girls arent looking so hot. But in a lot of pics, i see the leaves curled. They have color, but it just looks bad. It is still developing buds.

The theory is a friend taking care of it added a bunch of water, which would have diluted the nutrients. After 9 days its ppm was 598, which would have gone up due to the building up nitrates(let me know if i am talking out of my ass on that one). So, would this look right for lack of nutrients?

Nah, that's not from a lack of nutes, it's from too much nutes, if anything. It looks to have been poisoned or something. Hmm.... What *exactly* has been added to the soil, or sprayed on it's foliage, recently? Ph of these items?

either way, flush the crap out of the medium and tilt it on its side to let as much excess water as possible to drain. Keep flushing until the runoff comes the same as it got in.
A root bound plant would be much more bitchy about it. If your pot is not as wide as your plant right now - transplant right after draining the excess water.

It would also be a good idea to spray the leaves with some seaweed extract, 1\5 the dillution recommanded for watering, and making sure theres a lot of venting around until they dry up.

it looks bad.

As for nutes - the concentration builds up as water are consumed or evaporated. The concentration goes down as the plants use the elements.
If your overfeeding the plant would need more water than the nutrients you gave it and the concentration will rise. and visa verca.
It goes for most of the nutrients and not only for nitrates.

Cheers, McFonz :-)

I probably left out some info... but heres a bit more detail:
In this case, I am using FloraBloom. I raised the ppm to 700, and swapped it to 12/12 lighting instead of 13/11(on/off). The leaves look a bit more green today. From what the bottle says, it should be at 950ppm. But I started to drop it back down when I started to see negative results at 900. So, im kind of confused on where I should be with my nutrients at this point. Its budding, but just needs to fill out. I'm on the 7th week of flowering. The pH is at 5.3. They are about 5' tall.

If you are talking about flora series bloom that is a 3 part nutrient line, you are supposed to mix a 3 bottles together even though they are labeled micro-bloom-veg. If that's the mistake you made then dump out your rez and make a new batch mixing all three, since you are going into flower is should be veg-micro-bloom mixed at a 1-2-3 ratio and up it till you get to the ppm you want to be at which should be just a little lower than would burn them. You may also want to get epsome salt at your local hardware store because GH nutes are a little low in MG. You're pH is on the very low end of what I would call a good range but not to worry as long as you feed them right.

And of course you want to flower them much sooner than 5 feet, more like 24 inches. Unless you got a few thousand watts of light I wouldn'T flower them, just nurse them back to health with the veg formula and take cuts, 5 feet is too big to start flowering indoors.

Is that what I may want to do? How about this instead, you may want to learn the difference between flora bloom and flora nova bloom and why it's a stupid idea to grow a 5 foot plant indoors. You may also want to watch your attitude when you have shitty plants and need people's help.
