Real AF grower only!!

I mean that in the nicest possibly way, please let me explain before you judge.

I say it like that because I want to speak with AF growers that dont look
for "Highest yielding most potent strain" and make threads in pursuit. Thats
perfectly fine if thats how you want to grow but this thread simply doesn't
apply to you by default. But i digress no more on with it!!

For everyone else left in the room, what do you look for in AF strains? What catches your eye?
Certain flavor/aroma? Just for the way it grows? Traits that you look for? ETC.. Or what are you
currently looking for? What kind of cool crosses would ya like to see? Never know somebody just might know how to obtain those genetics :blsmoke:

I'm still new to AF's but this is what i look for and what not :-P

Panama Red x Ruderallis i think if bred properly that would be end game, id be up for the challenge if i obtained the real PR genetics! :hump:

In strains i look for that "dank" smell, more of the earthy type not so much into citrus/fruit
I love sugar!! Frosty buds make the best of everything really :D
Bud structure, I dont really like the whispy buds of sativas. I try to look for hybrids that have more indica like structure.
Hazelnut coffee bud would be pretty sweet smelling :)

You know I've been eye-balling some of the short stuff seeds strains. I recently just finished Snow Ryder by short stuff. Honestly, I'm impressed with its over all look, smell and how easy it was to grow....very hardy plant. I burned it early on in the grow, and it was able to bounce back very quickly. I took a sample before I started curing and was quite impressed with its potency....it doesn't knock you on your butt, it's a nice pick-me-up kinda smoke. It should be nicer once its cured.

What do or am I looking for in a auto?
-First and foremost, being a newbie I like that auto's are relatively hardy plants. I can make a small mistake and the plant will just keep chugging along.
-I look for strains that I can potentially get an ounce of dried bud from a plant....anything more than that is just bonus for me.
-As far as genetics goes...I'm open to just about everything...Sativa, Indica or hybrid, I'll try them all or as many as I can before my time comes.
-And like you Jeffdogg or anyone else, I like those buds that look like they've been touched by Jack Frost...you know the kind of bud that just glistens with crystally goodness.
-As far as the smell goes, it really doesn't make any difference...to me it's like stopping to smell the roses.

Strains on my list:
Barney's Farm Pineapple express
Short Stuff Auto-Assassin
Short Stuff Onyx
Dinafem Moby Dick Auto

Im a new grower but right now In autos Im looking for a relatively easy going bud ( I picked Blue Mystic) Eventually I want to find buds that are DENSE, FROSTY and decently sized. The buds dont have to be huge but I dont want 100 buds looking like popcorn chicken from KFC, only a couple ;)

You would prob like Barneys farm Blue mammoth or Blue cheese Auto from Big Buddha. Parents are killer photo strains and have heard very good things about their Auto children.

Remember the old skool Hawaiian punch bubba-licious gum? If they could make an AF strain like that, i would be happy :D

Love you guys :D

As you might know, I'm on my first Auto grow and it's a simple Royal Dwarf. I picked it out because it seemed like a relatively low maintenance plant that wouldn't get too tall. In fact that's generally the first thing I look for in an Auto - the height. I'm indifferent as far as the smell goes.

For my next auto grow, I have a Dianfem Fruit. I've never tried a fruit, even as a photo, so it's all a new experience for me.
I like to try different breeders and test the waters.

I don't have any preference for Indica or Sativa cause I think the Ruderalis evens things out a bit. If we're talking looks, I guess the Indicas have more appeal.

There's my two cents worth!

Here are my Snow Ryder plants...these were taken about a about 10 days before harvest. They didn't get over 18''. Thing #1 was nice and bushy with thumb sized buds and nice hefty main cola...would have been perfect for LST. Thing #2 was almost all cola with these tiny little nugs around the bottom.....oh yea...the indica genetics creeps up on you.

Basil, and a pineapple....which is doing awesome. It has been about two and half months since I panted the top and it has some great growth going on. It's also why I'm going to do Pineapple express next. Hopefully they will encourage each other to thrive:-P I'd love to be eating my own pineapple while toking.

I love pineapple but my gastro-esophogeal reflux disease dont. I ate 4 chunks a few months back and was sick for a few hours :(

Pineapple is always a pleaser, i used to be a fan of grape till all the snene kid breeders started doing their "gotta have a grape/purple strain" thing..

All im saying is if they can make a bacon perfume/cologne they can make a bacon flavored/aroma bud!! Just throwing that out there..

For me I look for a plant that can produce a large main cola so something that grows up rather than out I sorta prefer.
I havent tried a lot of strains but I just bought a 10 seed mix from buddha that are all auto and some tiresias mist so i can hopefully keep the best one going.
I guess the main thing I look for though right now if a beautiful plant, and I mean in veg. I guess as a new grower im more into the plant than the buds at the end, im sure it will pass though.

indeed i see your point but i look for a nice balance between the two i like powerful smoke without sacrificing yeilds, they offer many nice af strains, rare dankness hass some i really like and i wish soma would put out some somango afs would be very delighted for that.
