  • The time has finally come...all my equipment is in....my tent is built....everything installed and my temp/humidity test period has begun...my setup is as follows..

5.5 foot tall 3 feet deep 4 feet wide mylar lined tent
6 inch 160 cfm inline exhaust fan
    4 foot 4 bulb HO T5 fixture (4x 6400k grow bulbs veg) (2x 6400k 2x 3000k bulbs flower)
6 inch 2 speed clip-on fan (2 speed) for air circulation
    thermometer/hydometer with daily hi/low
    fox farm ocean soil mix
    roots organic trinity catalyst
    roots organic elemental
    roots organic sea bird guano
    roots organic phos bat guano
Ph test kit with PH up and PH down for control
    Veg/Bloom nutrients{good for veg and flower cycle 15-10-27 (n-p-k) }
    dried blood
    done meal
    4 foot Bamboo steaks
    2gal grow bags
    5gal grow bags

I have been doing so much research on tent growing and I'm excited to get the first grow under my belt...I will be adding another 6 inch exhaust fan and probably another 4 foot 2 bulb Ho T5 for supplemental lighting or maybe a 90w LED...I have a good friend with 10+ years experience mentoring me through this grow...I cant add any actual pictures because my damn tent takes up 75% of the free space in my bathroom so i cant get any good pictures...Ill post a pic of the tent tho from the website I got it off of...My sweet tooth and sour kong clones will be here in 2-3 days and ill be on my
way...Any advice is welcome...will keep my journal up to date with pics every chance i get... NOW LETS GROW !!!!

Clones made it into their new home friday afternoon...today is day 2...Been getting sprayed 2x a day with phd water....checking temps and humidity regularly....Had a small problem with temp in the early mornings...Had some weird spikes all the way up to 90 deg...solved by closing heat vent in bathroom...Lol...that really made me laugh...what a rookie mistake...oh well i guess....That will be one of those things i remember to check for on the next run....no better teacher then hands on experience....Here are some pics of the first 2 of 6 to arrive....Left one is a little crooked in its cup but will be fixed with the next transplant...one on the left is growing a little stronger...both are sour kong...I have 4 more sour kong and 2 hash plant on the way in 2 weeks for a total of 8...I will be transplanting 2 of the plants into a 5gal grow bags in about 4 weeks...the final set up will look like this... 3 bags 5 gal with 2 plants in each (sour kong) and 1bag 5 gal with 2 hash plants...Let me know what you guys think....and as always happy growing

looks like youve done your homework there buddy
one thing I would note here is that FFOF soil is already
very rich and adding extra bat guano and such will prolly burn your seedlings
My mix was 1 part perlite with 3 part FFOF and my seedling still got a lil burn ( pretty sure that's what it was from) 3.jpg
you can see a brown spot there

I'm running the same mix on these clones lol....Im a little thrown off by this set... they did have 2 days where my temp spiked to 90 for about 2-4 hours so they are showing a few signs of heat stress.... I fixed the heat problem.... now I'm spraying 2x a day with phd water...for the next week and a half...I don't think I will start adding anything else really for probably the next week or so...thats when ill start a dialed back nute reg and 2 weeks after that guano...I'm hoping they will come around soon... Keep me updated with your grow....I would love to see how yours turn out... thanks for the post... .happy growing :weed:

Ok quick update...the babies are going into week 2 veg...the runt in still leaning to one side but im not too worried about it...they both have new growth and the roots are bone white and exploding in the cups they're in now...Both are doing well with new growth...in the last 3 days they have both developed 2 sets of new leaves and are sprouting new sets on lower branches as well...will probably do my first transplant in about a week...both plants will go into one 5 gal grow bag of FFOC and will be starting roots organic trinity catalyst 5 ml/gal...First 2 pics are of the stronger one...the next 2 pics are my runt (notice the lean)...The last is a side by side in my tent...I think they are lookin good so far...any advice/comments always welcome.....happy growing all

is she leaning towards the lights?
Not specifically no...she was leaning in her cup when she came to me...i'm thinking its from the soil not being packed in the solo cup good and she shifted as it set...I will say that i have tried to position her under my light so she would still get enough light even with her lean...The new growth coming from the top is going straight up tho

Coming to the end of week 2 veg and the kongs are looking nice...I was going to transplant the one that was leaning but i decided to just steak it and let it do its thing...It was the runt but now shes taller and growing faster then her sister that was bigger 2 weeks ago...Im really excited to see how they turn out...I have also been misting my plants with dragon juice for the last 2 days and will continue on with that for the rest of this cycle...also started RO trinity catalyst this week also going through the rest of the cycle...Roots are looking great...I keep the plants in a clear cup and put that cup inside a red cup so light cant hit the roots...then i can lift the clear cup out to look at my root system and also to see how dry my medium is throughout... Its probably not a huge secret or anything but i thought i would share for anyone who would like to see their root growth or if they were having a hard time telling if they should water or not.....I hope you all enjoy watching this grow as much as I am....comments and suggestions are always welcome....happy growing :weed:

UPDATE: The other 6 plants 4x sour kong and 2x hash plant are delayed :wall:...Its all good tho....I would rather have a healthy clone then one thats going to have stunted growth...The next set of kongs and hash will be ready in about a week give or take a few days...im lucky enough to have someone who can give me clones any time i need them...so im essentially running with a perpetual grow....One thing i love about my local growing community is that we are all close and help each other out when we can...so i try and pay them all back by doing my homework and seeking knowledge so that i can in turn give that information back to new growers...thats how a growing community should be...with the vets teaching newcomers and when they progress and turn into vets return that given knowledge to those who come after...hope i didnt get to deep on yall lol (posted blazed :blsmoke:)..........happy growing erbody :weed:

Hi RIU...Sorry im a little behind with this update....its been a busy week...I transplanted my 2 oldest kongs into a 2 gal bucket so they would have a little more room to wait for their sisters to catch up...they are doing great so far...I will probably flip the room next week depending on how close the sisters are...Ill also probably start tying down the 2 larger tops on the older plants to the canopy will be nice and even when the room does flip...well thats my rant for this week...heres some pics of the monsters.....feel free to chime in with your thoughts and as always happy growing :weed:

Sup RIU... decept1con back again with an update...All my OG kongs little sisters went into a 5 gal bag (3 into 1)...My 2 OG kongs went into a 5 gal bag...The one runt i had went into a 2 gal bucket alone so it could veg for about another 2 weeks...it had a def and i gave it some blood meal and bone meal...its coming around but it will need some time...it worked out for me to hold it back because as you can see from my pics i have also converted my bathtub into a clone area...I have 2 feet of clone tray/heating mat covered by a 4 foot 2 bulb HO T5....So i have a good 2 feet of extra space that ill be letting the runt veg in and eventually the clones when they come out of the dome...In my tent im running a 4 foot 4 bulb...2x5600k and 2x 6400k...My new area is running 2x5600k @ 2 feet away...Ill be changing my spectrum when i flip to 2x10k and 2x5600k...heres the pics...let me know what you think...happy growing :weed:

Sup RIU...as you can see my post are getting a little spaced out...my schedule has gotten mad crazy...I wont forget about you guys tho....I love watching posts that get updated with pics so i try and keep up with pics every week...Picture 1 is the 5gal bag with sour kong x3...picture 2 is the same 3 kongs from the top...picture 3 is of my 2 original kongs...If you have been following my post you will notice these look much more wide and spread out...thats because i tied down or rather out the main stems on both plants...I was not getting much growth in the middle where the branches touched...light penetration with T5's is not the best so i tied down and spread them apart to get light to the central branches...shes looking great now...picture 4 is all of them as they sit in my tent...picture 5 is my runt....that little bastard is on my last nerve rite now...I have been dealing with it having stunted and mutated leave structures...i hit it with some bone meal and blood meal to try and bring it around....the little shit just wont do anything now...its not growing or wilting or showing me anything to work off...i think ill probably just toss that one out...im just throwing away time space and money on that one....the last pic is of my clones....they are all doing great...about half of them are rooted and should be leaving the dome in the next week give or take a few days....all the clones are sweet tooth....well there you have it...thats my update...shout out to everyone who has taken the time to look and much love to those who share their thoughts....as always happy growing :weed:

Ok guys...i normally do my updates on wednesday because thats technically when my plants went into my tent...but as we growers know schedules get adjusted and altered for conditions or any of a hundred reasons...The time has finally come to flip my room :bigjoint:...im really excited to get this step under way...Ill be flipping the light tonight at 6pm so i can run lights at night when temps drop and off in the morning when temps start to come up...clones are doing well also...my first run with that process yielded 20 keepers out of 25....I'm happy with that for a first run...my dome and trays where sanitized and reset with another round of sweet tooth clippings...all in all this grow is going better then i could have hopped...thanks for your advise and support RIU i really appreciate you all and i will update with pics on wednesday when im 6 days into flower....happy growing :weed:
