Ready for FLUSH? - Hydro Newbie needs advice for end of grow ADVICE

IMG_0546.jpgIMG_0547.jpgIMG_0548.jpgIMG_0550.jpg

So my girls are super close to the end. Buds are fat and they are growing very sugary. But I'm still giving them nutes and need to know if it's time to flush or if I just need to be patient. The 4 pics above are Master Kush.

IMG_0549.jpg

The pic above is Aurora. I can't change the time since they are all in an RDWC system, but it's clear that it's not as far along as the MK. Not much I can do about that.

Today is day 48 of flower. I am thinking of running the current nute soup until Wednesday and then flushing for 7-10 days. That would be between 60-63 days in flower. I really don't want to go past the point of no return. Advice please! If this was your grow, what would you do?

I started my flush too early and had restart nutes. What I have been told is to look at the tirchomes they go from clear to milky. When they get milky some will syart to turn amber that's when it's time to harvest. Also I think with hydro you only need to flush 3 or 4 days.
By the way they look real nice good luck.

They dont look ready yet, I think a couple more weeks before you begin to flush at least two. Than two weeks flush. At this point with mine I doubled the water times. Went from three to six it really pumps the buds up. Than a good two week flush. Also can you put up pics with normal light the flower light messes stuff up.

You are doing a great job, rep for you

Thanks brother. Doubled the water times? What does that mean?

As far as pics with normal light, they don't get normal light. I have about a 7 minute window when the CFL's are on but the HPS is off in the morning. I can try my best to get pics during that window tomorrow but no guarantee. But I have them on a very strict schedule and don't want to mess with it.

Yea, I've been looking at the trichromes and they don't seem milky yet, and definitely not amber. Do you wait until they are right then flush? I think the plant probably continues to make more loveliness even during the flush, so it would seem to me to start the flush when they are just starting to become milky. Anyone wanna help with this one?

If I'm not mistaken I believe chrishydro is referring you to a soil grow or something not DWC.
With DWC you only need 3-5 days flush. Since you roots are soaking in the water, their is no idle time. With soil and other pot feedings, you need to wait for the water & nutes to travel through.
Id say do 1 week flush & your set.
As far as how much more light & time under them, I have no idea.

I wait until they are mostly milky with a few clear trichs in there and that's when I start to flush for about a week. After a week, they usually have some amber and the rest cloudy with a couple clear trichs here and there. That's how I like it. 70% Cloudy, 25% Amber, 5% clear

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

I know there is always a debate on this but.... are you counting from the day you switched to 12/12 or from first sign of flowers??? I always start my count from first sign of flowers. like hydro said looks like you still have a few weeks before you start your flush... stay high

I'm counting from when I switched them over to 12/12. I don't even know when they started to flower. Well, if more than one successful member of this helpful forum tells me to wait a few weeks before I flush, I will wait a few weeks before I flush.
I stopped Big Bud according to the instructions, can I add it back in for a week?
Also, I followed the instructions for Overdrive thinking I was in the last few weeks, should I keep adding it until the flush? Will this cause any issues?

I'd say so. Master Kush from Nirvana is crap. It always, and I mean always looks like that when budding. I grew it once. Worst waste of space in all my growing.
Fugh. Well I trusted the ordering to someone else. I'm still gonna hope for the best though. But if I ever do this again, what seeds do you recommend and from where? I want quantity and potency, but not too high of a grower because I have the closet space to work with.

Sorry, bro. I'm hoping yours will come out a little better than mine, but I was pretty disappointed, and it looked a lot like yours. When you harvest, you'll notice that the buds are airy as they never dense up no matter how long you flower. And the thc content isn't what you would call overwhelming.

I had great results with Nirvana ICE. I would recommend ICE or a good ICE cross. It's easy to grow and yields big, crystal covered colas. I'm sure there's a lot of other better beans (even from Nirvana), but I haven't grown from seed since my early days. I'm sure any number of people here can recommend a good, dense plant either from Nirvana or Attitude or some other place. I've never tried it, but I've seen some incredible looking Chernobyl from growers on this site.

Edit:
Oh! And how could I forget to mention Cali-Connect? Their gear is growing all over this site... and some if it doesn't look half bad. I'm an OGK head through and through. Again, never grew Cali-Connect OG since I just grow local clones, but I've seen and heard good things.

I got a feeling they aren't that "airy" actually. I have a number of colas on them from topping, and most of them can't hold themselves up. I've had to be a magician with twine to keep so many of the colas and other offshoot branches from falling over from the weight. I can only assume this is a good sign and that I won't have a similar result. I will update this thread when results come in.

I started looking into attitude yesterday. Looks like they get great reviews and have top notch seeds so I think that might be the next company if I choose to do another grow. I'll give Cali-connect a look too.

It might be unfair of me to say that Nirvana MK always buds like that, but your buds are airy, bro. I found some Nirvana MK on another site and posted a couple pix here for comparison with your MK.

His are at day 56, but I don't think any amount of time is going to change this:

to this:

This is what legit nug looks like late in flower. I mean really, how can those two even be the same thing? I guess it's just a mixed bag of seed quality when you order from these places. Hit and miss. And yes, you can have huge, airy buds. Airy buds usually are quite voluminous. Wherever your weight is coming from, it's not coming from swollen calyx.

Best of luck with yours, but you grew a bad batch. Sometimes I really wonder where these seeds from these 'seed banks' come from.

Hey man you need to check your trichs. Day 48 sounds really premature. Your buds look very airy the hairs have not started to recede yet. When I flush I wait until I see 1/4 amber 3/4 milky trich then flush for 3 days in hydro.

Maybe it's not the seed at all. Maybe I just fughed up somewhere. Air quality? I did fugh them up a little bit when they were younger, and I did fugh up lots of fan leaves. Guess if I did this again I would be more careful.

Picture Update Time. Still not sure exactly how long left until harvest. Some feedback welcome from experienced growers! (Even from you lordjin :-o)
