re-vegging after harvest.

harvesting my plants soon and would like to re-veg the best one and take some clones off it, is this a viable option. Am worried that the clones wont be as potent as the original ( should have taken them before i flowered, i know ) . Could do with some advice .

its going to be the same plant so potency shouldnt change, i revegged a coupl eplants and was happy with the results. if your really happy with the plant reveg it and keep it under low light conditions in a small pot as a mother.

when you reveg prepare a new pot for it with fresh soil, pull the plant out of the old pot and cut off 60-70% of the root mass (dont go super crazy but its ok to cut a good cunk off)

repot it in new dirt and water in, then put under low light (couple of 23w cfl ) for 24/0 for a week then put it in your veg tent

No, Thanks thats really useful info. will take your advice, only light av got that'll be suitable will be a 125w eco-light that i use for clones and transplanting clones. Will do the job though.
 
Info RetiredMatt said is good but just a couple of more detailed observations I've made:

1) Leave about 1/3rd of the plant after harvest - including some popcorn sites (a lot of the new growth stems from these site)
2) After trimming rootball and replanting like RetiredMatt says, give your plant some veg mode food, it's craving nitrogen
3) The first week, I go 24/7 with the light
4) I make a foliar spray using Clonex Clone Solution (not cloning gel), spraying plant 2-3 times a day - I go 10ml a quart

Be prepared for some strange-looking growth at first. Leaves that are single, not serrated etc.
 
all good info above, as far as what to leave, any bud sites you can will be good, fan leaves dont really matter but they do help with the transition as the bud sites arent really able to provide food for the plant. each calyx that is left on the plant will shoot off as a branch and like cues said the growth is really strange looking as each calyx will actually turn into a fan leaf that is capable of protosynthisizing,

Toughest part about doing a re-grow is knowing how much greenery to leave on the plant.
A while ago I posted before and after pix on how to trim for a re-grow. Post was titled
"re-grow Success" or something real close to that. Check it out.

Great info guys ...i know in out of turn but what should my runnoff ph be in soil? It just came back 5.2 last week so i run straight water threw until it cleared up and was 6 not today i checked it again and its 5.2 ....i used sledgehammer should i use it again to knock salts down....thanks fellas

So i was curious, when re-vegging a plant that's 2weeks from harvesting like that, are you saying you can chop the bud and regrow that plant? or do you have to leave the buds? Kind of confused on that, sorry
 
Yes and no. Just some leaves and popcorn. I don't btw..I guess for clones to save a strain it would be an option.
 
man i havent had any luck with revegging....got a little pineapple express clone that flowered. flowers have died off but other than that it literally has done nothing since and that was like 4 months ago lol
 
I must admit, I've never intentionally done a 'proper' re-veg. I scrog and there is so little left under the screen after harvest, I doubt it would work.
What I have done, however, is have some vegging clones into flower when the better half's parents came to stay for a week. I had no choice but to put them in a mates grow room (unfortunately in 12/12) for the duration. It slowed me down a lot (maybe 3-4 weeks) but was interesting none the less.
On the other hand, this has got me thinking that after a harvest in mid-late summer, instead of binning the remaining plant, why not just plant it outside somewhere quiet? What's to lose?
