Re-Veg confusion

Hello fellow dirt lovers, I had a few plants that started to show pistils as the days are getting shorter but I wanted them to grow more before flowering so I put them on a 20-4 light regime. Its been around 2-3 weeks now and all signs of flowering seem to be gone but the plants are all still under obvious stress and are producing only 1-point leaves for weeks now.
I tried to read up on the matter but didnt find much consistent info on how to help the plant in this situation, apart from adjusting the light schedule.
Do I defoliate heavily to give the plant more energy to work with or just let it bounce back on its own? Is adding veg nutrients wise at this point? Can I expect these plants to go back to 5-9 point leaves and eventually produce a decent yield or are these kinds of plants usually doomed?
I never before went thru this process so any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated, thank you!

I accidentally flowered and had to reveg. Took about a month to switch back. Which is great cause I needed them to slow down haha. If I were you I’d switch back to veg nutes. I wouldn’t trim until they switched back though.

Completely normal for a re-vegging plant.
Leave it alone and it will straighten out and produce normal looking leaves.

Yep, as said before that's completely normal for a plant that's been revegged. You may not want to flower that plant out, but instead take a bunch of clones and grow those out

So I can expect the plant to start growing again and produce normal buds in the end?
Should i hold off on nutes until the leaves are back to normal? Also, would I still be able to top the plant after its back to normal?

Thanks for the swift response folks

Ah thanks, i saw that term around while reading up but was skipping it because i didnt think its regarding my situation. If you guys say this still looks normal after 3 weeks under 20-4 lights, i can read up on the rest of the info now that I know what it is. cheers
Yea it takes a while to go from flower back to actual Veg.
