Re-Buding

How do I (if possible) harvest my Buds without harming the ladies, then re-bud them? Would cloning be faster with a higher yield, or does it make a difference?

what do you mean? if your plant is big enough and ready to go the tops will probably be ready to chop off then you can dry/smoke that and leave the rest of the lower plant to grow until those buds are fully mature.

DON'T CUT YOUR PLANT WHEN IT'S BUDDING, it will stunt the plant. Hormones form in the growing tips and if you whack off the top the rest of the plant stops budding until the hormones build up again. Once a plant buds it senses that death is coming and will not give clones as good as ones taken before it gets into full bud. YOU CAN take cuttings off the lowest branches early in the bud cycle because they should be less developed than the upper ones. Taking cuttings of all your plants early on from the bottom and keeping track of which plant they came from will allow you to have uninterrupted clones as soon as you decide which plants are desirable for perpetuating as clones. Clones from more mature budding plants will have smaller looser buds than the original plants.

buds need to come off at harvest:) and thats when this happens... I never tried it. its supost to be faster to jus start new plants

Thanks for the info!
The article tckfui linked was exactly what I was looking for.
Though I'm skeptical to try it, probably stick with clones.
By the way, I'm interested in perpetuating my cycle, so where is the best place to take cuttings from a less mature budder? i.e. a branch directly from the stalk, a single bang leaf from the stalk, or a single leaf from the branch?

I do a regeneration...I just harvest top 3/4 of plant and flip light to 24/0...then after 7-10 days I flip light back to 12/12 and go another 9-10 weeks...

I tried extending the 12/12 to mature the botom buds, but the problem with continuing a plant in 12/12 after the top buds are at peak, the rest of the plant is declining and will die shortly...

by revegging at 24/0, the plant returns to veg state and then to another flower cycle when flipped back to 12/12...
the yield of regeneration is unbelievable...

the potency improves in 2nd and 3rd generation and never seems to decline thru gen 15...I usually clone and start another cycle every 2-3 years...I know some folks who are on generation 14 and 15, still going strong...I've heard of a guy who has a houseplant he has been growing for 18 years, never cloned, harvested every 80-90 days...

do you mean after youve harvested your plant. can you revegg it?.
, ive done this. i just chopped off all the main growth, and just left it to vegg, bare, after 2weeks or so the plant started to vegg again. i couldnt belive it, it seemed a good sturdy plant. the 2nd time round. and for some reason much better.

YES, that's what I mean...using the same roots generation after generation...It works for me and Snow White...bongsmilie

Additionally, I use the same nutes in my hydro system for the whole life of the grow...I use the GH nutes with the Lucas Formula...I dont change the res at all during a grow, just add rod water and/or nutes...the ph is very stable at about 5.8 and I keep ppm at about 900...4 generations (3 harvests) and counting with only about $30 in nutes...

A very very very inexpensive way to grow my own!!!

id allso repott into a bigger pot or new pot with a bit now muck, and pebbles inthe bottom for better drainage, to stop food collecting in the bottom of the pot/roots. so you dont nute lock.

I'm definitely gonna re-gen. my girls, sounds awsome, and makes plenty of sense.
I do have some questions though. How do you feed them nute's after they've sucked everything from the soil? New soil? And when harvest time comes around, what is the order in which/how I cut? (very paranoid to do it wrong) Should I take the top 3/4 down to a growth point, and let the lower buds mature, then chop 'em and go into 24/0 veg. ?

I have tried to regen plants before but it takes so long to get them going again and its so much easier and faster to just use clones.

I Totally agree with FF. Regening takes to much time. It took my plants 2-3 weeks to recover from harvesting them, and another 2-3 weeks of veg. so 4-6 weeks, to get threw Veg, and the plants were spindely and such, and the little popcorn buds dried up and died. Then i had to enter Flower stage again. So a total of 14 weeks, and the plants looked butchered. After that try I only germinate new seeds, or Clones. But I have only tried it once, so maybe I did not do things correctly.

thats really interesting.....so if/when you have buds that are totally mature and ready to harvest....you take thoses out leaving the less mature portions of the plant, return to vege phase conditions, and then reflower...interesting...thanks for sharing that....:peace:

thanks tckfui....but like you said (or someone...0 it actually uses more time than other methods?......n\but I suppose if you've got a good plant, and have a vasrt differential in maturation top to bottom it might make sense....i wondering though...it seems to me that taking some clones might be a better route....no pun intended....hehehehehe

hahaha hoho
Yea I never did it I read before that it takes too much time, but if its a good plant and its too late for clones and its the only one you got than what are you going to do?
ooooo you just reminded me I toke clones 2 days ago and forgot all about them... better go check :P

good plan...i might be doing just that in the next couple of weeks depending on how things progress.
