RDWC Reservoir question!

So im planning on running a 30 day perpetual grow in RDWC, SOG style in a 4x4 space with 48 plants.

Ill be running two RDWC set-ups --- External res -->18 gal tote -->18 gal tote--> Return to reservoir

They will run side by side. Each tote having 12 plant sites, what size should my external reservoir be? They will be kept outside of the tent so size isnt too big of an issue.

Anyways? What do you guys advise? I was told a 20 gallon external reservoir for each would run it fine but I feel that may be a little on the shallow end?

Is there some sort of calculation to figure this out?
 
During first 4 weeks of Veg not much - flowering is when it really begins to suck the res dry. I change mine out every 10 days or when I have replaced 1/2 the amount of solution the res holds. But I only do smalls of 4- 5 gal buckets w/ a 5 gal res.
 
I will tell you from experience that you will work your ass off for less yield than if you ran less plants. Cut the plants in half.

Lotta work - once you cut them down by half - do it again! I always feel like it's a second job ie. pH checks, TDS checks, tieing up, topping off, problem checking, light raising, res changing, nute mixing, equipment problems, and on and on - still satisfying tho.

Thats a pretty generalized statement, could you explain what you mean? You pretty much told me nothing. I genuinely interested in your reasoning specially in a SOG style grow.

Im going SOG the point is to have that many plants and run it perpetually.

Well based on the route I am going I wont be vegging for 4 weeks.

I go from my cloner straight to flower, they will veg for a week which starts the moment they show roots.

Did anyone read my actual post?

4x4 tent

2 RDWC's side by side

Each system has two totes of 12 plants connected to an external res.

DOES anyone have a calculation for what gallon *reservoir* to run two 18 gal totes without having to top off daily. Each system has its OWN reservoir because they will be flowering 30 days apart.

My goal is just to harvest 24 plants every 30 days

I run sog in a rail system. My original system had 21 plants in a 3.5'x4.5' area under a 1k and my newer systems run 12 plants in same area under same light and work is much less and yield is much more. I just harvested 43oz and harvest every 3 weeks.

So what would you recommend with a RDWC system?

You harvest over 2 1/2 lbs with 12 plants going SOG? That sounds incredibly unrealistic...

12 plants isnt SOG, Could you detail your system a little more for me so I have a better understanding?
 
It may sound incredibly unrealistic to you but it happens every three weeks, like clockwork, in my room and many others i know You can see all the details u need in my thread, my 3 stages of flower. 6 plants could be a sog depending on area, what makes u say 12 isnt? No set plant count i know of to qualify as sog. All i was trying to do was pass on some hard earned experience from years of growing but go ahead and run those 40+ plants just know that most growers would never go over 99 total plants(clone,veg,flower) because of legal issues.

I asked for a more detailed response to further understand your set up so I could make mine as efficient ass possible.

I will never have 99 plants.

Ill have 24 flowering 30 days later another 30 then 20 clones prepared from the first half of the cycle of 24 plants?

EXPLAIN WHY going SOG with that many plants and how 12 is more efficient, instead of responding with no actual information regarding what im asking you to explain

I didnt say anything to deserve that response. Too lazy to do anything myself? You didnt offer anything dude other than telling me to use 12 plants instead of 48 with no explanation but your dumbass is incapable of doing that because you obviously dont know what the fuck you are doing or trying to say.
 
If you werent sooooooo fucking lazy you could spend time looking at the thread i referenced you to and see that what i offered you was a shitload of experience in hydro with very successful grows. That was more than you will get from most here, dumbass. Too stupid to realize what a waste of air you are.

I didnt ask for shit but one question to know what size reservoir to use for two 18 gallons bins with 12 plants in each. Where did you answer that question? Please tell me, you stupid fuck.
