yep same here its almost like it has auto pilot, and ill have pics of my system soon, I'm starting four blue cheese, I'm using 8 gallon Dutch pot because my roots squeaked out of the five gallons the previous grow. And on yours, its goes from the buckets to the back and to the tee, then to your return line, in mine. I have my control bucket with one three inch line coming out going to to buckets, then I have an elbow,this is where you now have your tee, instead I ditched the tee and went with another elbow to the two last buckets down to a half inch return line to my control bucket, seems hard to imagine but you'll understand once I show ya the pics, I just did it so there's absolutely no possible decrease in flow on one side vs another.

Sounds like a sweet setup, can't wait to see the pics. I'm running GH micro and bloom along with cal-mag (for ro water) and hydroguard to keep the bad bacteria at bay. I'm just curious what you are running nute wise, and if you are running a sterilized system or if you are using bennies.

I'm using the advanced nutrient lineup. Sensi A /B and most of their additives, I wont be using hydroguardor h202 or anything to that extent unless I have to. Or if I randomly get pythoum or something, the beneficial organisms in the advanced root line up IMO is responsible for like 33% if the yield, the t
roots just start to explode with them.. I'll be using r/o system also.

quick question, what type of fittings did you use to connect the pac to the buckets? They look really nice, I need to upgrade mine to a bigger size

talking about uniseals? There great UNLESS you have a shitty holesaw then you will have leaks!

Very nice thread.
I am following with great interest.
I am about to start a new RDWC grow.
I was doing top drip feed through GrowStone but had some root problems.
I'm not sure if what I'm doing is exactly deep water culture, or rather shallow water culture?
My cooled res is below and pumping up into this tray.
I am hoping for the "autopilot" experience that you are enjoying.

I used 'uniseals' to attach PVC to the buckets. They work great for this type of application, bought mine on ebay from an aquarium outlet.

Looks cool man! I think back on all my stealth grows and they were pretty wild to say the least. Now people at the grow shops are walking out with gallons and gallons of nutes. I'm like wtf are they growing? They key to making this automatic is having a rez constantly fill up the system and top it off. You can fill your rez with fresh ro water, or make it a nutrient solution and let it feed itself. My rez lasts about 1 week which is great, if I need it to last longer, just need a bigger rez! It's a lot of fun so far, will be done at the end of this month.

other than that i just nute back up to strength if my EC drops or do a change out once I put about half my systems volume back in from the 55 gal.

The girls are frosting up nicely. The calyx are swelling and it's starting to smell dank. Very sour smelling. I've run this pheno before, she was picky last round, but the frostiest by far. Looks like it should be a stellar run.

Sounds like a decent setup man. I run advanced in my soil/coco grows and have pretty good results. I would not mind giving it a try in a hydro grow, but you know how it is. You find something that works good and it's hard to stray away... Gotta say, water systems are pretty nice. Easy to maintain, and great results. I'm always interested in yield per watt with dwc. I was always getting 24 oz per 1200w in soil an coco. Will be interesting to see what dwc will offer.

Almost there, another 2 weeks. Smell is crazy dank and frost factor is through the roof. Def the frostiest grow I've done. Genetics are Blue Power by Sin City Seeds. Got the beans at the Canabis Cup in Denver last year. Going back for more genetics this year too. Should be a good time. Tickets just went on sale, can't wait!

Man, bought the 3" unseals and I think I really screwed myself. They require a 4" holesaw and after cutting such a big hole the bucket now lacks the strength to allow the pipe through. Also w such a big hole the uniseal does not evenly fit because of the round shape of the buckets. Any advice or back to the drawing board for me?

they should work. M make sure they're good food grade buckets, the flimsy ones won't hold up

If you were growing in a clear container kije in the pic, you're growing more algae than pot. You gave to black out you reservoir so no light gets in. Also be very mindful of your eater temps, anything over 80 and you've an algae farm. You can kill two birds if you insulate with reflectex or something similar

DWC is deep water culture meaning the plant roots are submerged in water, RDWC means recirculating deep water culture where several plant sites share a common water source that circulates through the system.
