2 X 450W QB currently. have a hps and CXB in the back but thats for later.

Procrastinating with the veg, with a few strains shown. - GG4XGelato, gelato, ak47, kalifa kush, LSD and some other strain that i forgot to label, could be lsd though..

a word of warning, some of those white buckets can let some light through the plastic i found, so i went with the black, you may want to wrap them in black trash bags if it does.. you will know if you get green manky water in the rez's

Will probably also want to fill your net pots with some clay pebbles or something and do what @go go kid said, otherwise you will get a rez full of green shit

Getting very filled inside, had to prune them down.
Plants in RDWC are about a month in age.
Going to select some clones for mothers, and some to flip as sog. See which genetics does best.

No no no no! I spot big saturated rockwool cubes covered in algae. That's a "no no" in DWC. You need proper light and heat insulation. Run things sterile or invest in a chiller.

Top feeding in DWC will only cause a heap of problems. You're only supposed to top feed by hand til the plants got roots developed. No need to top feed with developed roots, it only gives room for stagnant water, low DO and algae/rot growth. Good luck!

Yeah I did for the RDWC side.

Id never needed a chiller in my setups. Res tank pumps back into netpot filled with clay pebbles from the top introducing waterfall effect. No bucket has air stones, and the roots are all fine. They drinks a-alot of water and tanks required to be top off every two-three days about 10L, so barely any slime.

Only time I have encountered algae problem and slime, was in the tray bucket setup. Only because I don't cover the top of the rectangle bucket from light, but have grown from clone to harvest in them, even with slime in the tank.

Res tank covered with black garbage bag, has reduce the algae problem. All i do is use a sponge and wipe it around with the feeding solution, to clear the tank from algae. Top it off with water, as the pump fills to each bucket through to the netpot through the clay pebbles.

1500W setup currently. 2x450W hlg and 600w hps.

I still have 400-600w of cxb laying around and another 600w hps.

Was just about to say, are they Rockwood cubes ! Bad idea just asking for unnecessary issues that are avoidable ! White buckets are not good either, get some white/black/white light proof wall covering and cover them buckets ! Panda would do it just not as good as white/black/white plastic sheet/roll

There should be no biofilm or algae growth in hydro. I think your description and pictures show you got a lot of possibilities and room to improve on your methods. All the best of luck to you!

Day 16 Flower

Note to self, make sure to scrog earlier.

Star Pupil, says it turns into purple at day 7-10 flower.

This is my last setup as a sog, constant flood and drain. With PVC repumping water back into the tubs. Without covering the tubs.

Some really good advice being given and ignored here. DWC is every newbs first hydroponic setup and that’s comes with more difficult learning curves since there more area’s of concern.
Sure you can grow half way decent bud but what if you incorporate what your being told? Maybe it’ll be better than half way. Think about that.

Interesting method Because I got high. So with the dwc buckets your water is constantly being moved around, mixed up, airated , is that correct? probably kept cooler and more stable this way too. With the trays and rockwool those are being drip feed yes ? Do you keep those on a timer or on constant feed. Its something quite similar to what ive used before. Only mine was in hydroton and was a rapid top feed drip line and rapid flood and drain combo on timers. Actually worked very well. Your plants seem to be loving it and growing fast, I think your running out of room due to jungle type rapid growth. Used to happen to me too. Looks cool.

I did. And dwc isn’t every first newb grow. It’s RDWC. I just covered the Rez tank with black garbage bag, no algae has grown since and checking the buckets, it’s clear inside.
This isn’t my first grow. DWC isn’t complicated I just had enough of filling every individual buckets.

previous grow, I used only a bucket and rock wool. No clay pebbles as I get lazy at the end removing the roots from it.

It’s a Recirculating deep water culture system, all buckets are linked to the Rez.
I have cold air sucked in from the negative pressure keeping my Rez cold. I have never required a chiller for any buckets. I have never encounter root rot.

I have grown previously with the rock wool fully saturated from water from the start of the grow to the end.As long as you provide your roots with oxygen your all good.

the tray setup was suppose to be a flood and drain, but I didn’t have a timer, so I made It like a DWC system but have a Rez tank underneath, so inside the Rez tank there’s a pump that pumps water from underneath the tray, and a overflow piping going back down to the Rez, with air stones in the Rez tank and the tray itself. Not drip feed. I used 1” PVC attached to the pump and pump back to the tray from the top, creating a waterfall effect to provide the oxygen.

as long as you have a waterfall effect your good to go.

RDWC. Rez tank has a water pump with PVC piping feeding to each site from the net pot. No bucket has air stone inside. Seems to be doing pretty well. 2” PVC as return.

I fill up the buckets every 2-3days. Plants drink about 5L a day.

yes they’re constantly moving water back to the Rez tank and filled to each site.
Everything is constant.

I have seen side by side grows, constant top feed vs flood and drain. Constant top feed from topwas better.
First time I had algae in my tanks due using clones that have algae already grown on it from previous grows. No real biggie.
I try to minimise materials. I’ll take more pictures to show you.

tray system is best when you use it as sog. Just make sure that u cover the tray or you’ll get algae slime, not root rot. Just slime.

I have hyd clay pebbles aswell, but lazy in cleaning them at the end. So I just used rock wool , bucket , water and something to provide air. Covering the tray from light will solve everything.
The tent is a 2m x 2m x 2m.
Next grow I will Use LST. Because it would’ve been great if I did it earlier as my tent is nearly filled.

some plants are getting to close to the lights. Week four is tomorrow.

Week 4 Day 30. Feed 1000ppm. No more algae growth in the res tank as you can see. Just a spec, marking out the height.
I'd noticed the LSD in the back is more sativa like, its pretty leafy.

Girl Scout x Gorilla Glue first picture.

Star Pupil is starting to look very nice. Turns purple around the 7-10 day mark in flower.

LSD, leafiness is in the genetics, I thought it was fox tailing from the heat produced from the HPS.

Can't wait for week 5. BUD XL at week 5 till week 10. Add top booster at week 6. - Reminder.
