Rant: "I'll beat any advertised price!" Says the hydrodouche

Anyone seen this repeating theme? Seller's trying to sucker you into buying things from their store without looking up competitors prices.

I have one grow store within 40 miles of my house, and every time I go to it a guy I have fondly come to know as the "hydrodouche" is working the counter, and every time I get to the counter with whatever item it is circumstances have forced me to buy from him I have to shrivel in disgust when he announces his obscene price to me. Then he has the audacity to say to me "lowest advertised price you'll find". It takes every ounce of sociability I have to not spit in his face and say, "do you think I don't fucking know what MSRP is asshole?".

Sadly, lack of competition and the inherent fear of online retailers for many has been kind to him. At least once a month he is able to sell 10g's worth of equipment to some sixteen year old that has convinced his mom that Medical Marijuana is a gold rush, and that they can make their entire investment back in one harvest.

The conclusion here, if your an online retailer your going to have to come up with a better pitch than "lowest advertised price". Were all pretty god damn aware that your wholesalers won't let anyone advertise lower than a certain price. Save that bullshit for the 16 year olds with rich mothers, and the technophobes.

Amazon.com.........Works wonders when you need to buy stuff cheap, plus they have deals on free shipping all the time. Prolly not the LOWEST prices around, but guaranteed prices are better than bogus prices.

I used to use amazon all the time. Their pretty good, but not the best. Check out the best deals thread, usually you can find equipment about 10-20% cheaper than even amazon if you look hard enough.
