I just got looking at my range hood and i dont see why it wouldnt work as a good reflector. I dont know if it would cause hot spots or not though. But the fan i think would be perfect for cooling off the light and the reflector, all you would need to do is switch the fan so it blows instead of an intake. Not to mention that its alot cheaper.
