Random sprout??

Howdy y'all.

Just quick one. Anybody every had a sprout they never planted, pop up?

Grown in coco, plant in question was about 2 and half weeks into vegging after a lengthy seedling stage ( was rather leggy, so after reading a post on here, kept on burying them). When I noticed, what I thought was a tiny green catipillar, on closer inspection was a sprout. Got rather excited at first... Woohoo 2 plants for the price of one. After the weed wore off, and I entered reality, I dismissed my 2 plant theory an plucked it like a unwanted pube. Any ideas what it was?image.jpg

One for the sharper eyes, lol. It's in there somewhere image.jpg

I had a sprout pop up during my seedling stage, I think it was already in my soil. I too got excited at first, but reality set in as I realized it wasn't another seedling.

I produce my own vermicompost, so I get random tomato "sprouts" that pop up all the time from a batch of tomatoes I processed and canned last year (I fed them the scraps). It's annoying, but also somewhat reassuring that my soil is quite fertile.

Cheers for the replies.

@xSwimToTheMoon, mushrooms you say. Would be a sight for sore eyes, I can't bloody stand them haha, not even the magical ones.
I too got excited at first,
Would be quite a scenario, if the next generation just sprouted away next to their mothers, when they felt happy enough... Put the spliff back down Ross, it's 7 in the morning haha.
@v0x yeah, that's a canny outlook! Bit of a hindrance but a slight compliment to your media and conditions :)

Cheers again fam, it's good to see I'm not alone on the rogue sprouts. Peace out and take it easy
