Rainbow Chip (Exotic Genetix), Krazy Runtz (Exotic Genetix) Need Advise.

So I'm a completely new grower, So if you see something dumb just let me know, and I'll either explain or fix it. I just wanted to know if you guys see any visible problems with my girls. I would say they are about 2-3 weeks maybe 4. I feel they look pretty good, I just would like some opinion.

Are you going to do 20 of these at this size under 12/12?

Let them veg a bit before trying to flip to flower.

At this point you might get 3 joints out of them.

For LST you want to tie the top down lower than the rest of the plant so the growth nodes can grow upwards. The point of LST is to gain more bud sites (also known as colas) as well as an even canopy.

Well I'm currently growing 4 of them, I heard people on other forums getting 1-3 oz off of the 12/12 from seed method. Will I really only get three joints if I continue these in 12/12? Thanks for the quick reply m8. Also Health wise Do they look alright? I know the pictures are a little ruff, I can upload more, if need be.

They look healthy. You can do 12/12 and get a underwhelming yield or you can veg longer under 18/6 and get more from your setup.

Remember that you are spending money on electricity for everything in your set up. Your job is to make the money spent worth while. Think in terms of Return on Investment.

Also how long from this point would you veg i'm on about the 5-6 node. Smart man, I do agree it would probably be smarter changing back to 18/6. I took your advise on the Lst and am already seeing quickish growth within the 7 hours of you replying. Thanks for the heads up m8.

try 6-8 weeks. Being brand new to growing you will want some leeway for errors.

Sorry I've been up all night researching! One last question if that's alright? Do you top? I heard some people do both LST and topping, some people do either or? What do you think is the best option for high yield

I'd say for your first few grows don't worry about high yield. just get the hang of it and get the plants to finish and cure.

It's also worth noting that every strain has different characteristics. some respond better to one type of training vs another. Some plants will top themselves and turn into bushes, and further topping makes them unmanageable.

you could try a few different methods and see what works best for you.

personally I like to top once (sometimes twice), and then will supercrop branches to maintain my even canopy. other ppl swear by scrog. I'm not as much of a fan of scrog bc I like to be able to rearrange my tent and clean up if I spill something etc.

for overall max yield you can't beat a bunch of clones in a SOG but it's a lot of work and most of us that have tried it gave it up and just went back to fewer larger plants. I'll definitely do it again at some point when I have a less stressful 9-5.

one other thing to note. if you are growing from seed (assuming they are not autoflowers) regardless of how long you veg, if you flip them to flower before they are showing signs of preflower and are sexually mature, you increase risk of stressing them out and having them herm.

Thanks for the reply man. Yeah I've switched them back to 18/6. Like I mentioned above I'm doing Lst right now, Just realized I have one 3 sided leaf touching my medium. I'm guessing that's not a good thing. The Lst seems to be going fine other than that. I decided to do a little experiment I topped my shortest girl, and the other two I'll just Lst till they grow a little bigger, then top new growth (since you can't lst right after topping and vise versa Or am I wrong?).

Is this a bad thing @ilovereggae
don't worry about it too much, as the plant grows it should resolve itself. in general no you don't want leaves touching soil. if its still touching next time you need to water just lift or bend it out of the way.

I would give the plant time to recover between each step of training. wait until it springs back to life and you see some new growth.

Depending on strain and how your grow goes you can get decent yields from small plants. In fact SOG is a very productive method of growing. I usually grow small plants myself. You can veg longer for bigger plants or you can flip fast and get more harvests. Either way will produce good yields if you know what you're doing.

If this is your first time growing there is nothing wrong with flowering small plants to learn what you need to do to keep your plants healthy all through their lifecycle. I've seen many first time growers spend months training their plants only to end up with serious issues in flower and sick plants. Flowering is where people tend to have issues and if you've spent months vegging and training it's pretty disheartening to see all that time and effort end up with dismal results.

Whatever you do, veg longer or flower now. Good luck with your grow. :blsmoke:

This was 12/12 from seed. Could have gone longer but that's not the point. It was over an ounce dried.

These were filipped to 12/12 after about 2 weeks and topped once. I think the pots are 3.7 liter.

So just a quick update. The one on the right (Krazy Runtz) is recovering from the lst I did earlier, I plan to just top her. As far as the one on the left goes, I'm hoping I tied her down correctly. I do see the Lower growth catching up quickly with the top so that's good. I've tied down a couple of branches with ties, and now my problem with the leaves hanging in the dirt is solved. Let me know what y'all think! The two others in the original pictures are doing great so far. The bigger of the two ( Also Krazy Runtz) was topped that same day and I already see the next two growths popping out. Another quick Update I misread my freebie :,D. 2 of my girls are not Rainbow chip they are the Rbchip x bonkers mix called Bangarang. If any of y'all know about this strain feel free to update me, cause I'm clueless.
