Do you believe there would be racism if the continents never split? I'm sure there would be war to some extent or rival villages to say the least. But, do you think we would be so different culturally? At times, I just wonder that if we never had split apart, would we be so diverse? Would like some expanded opinions on this idea.
 
I can see where you are going with that and I agree with you. I traveled to many countries in my time in the Navy and even when we could not speak the same language people still figured out a way to communicate and have a good time (most of the time things would turn out fine.) There was some sort of universal communication through having a good time and enjoying peoples company. I grew up in a racist household and was very ashamed as I got older and truly experienced friendships and hardships with people of every race and religion I could ever imagine. I don't think wars are necessarily unnatural in some cases, but I do think that hate is unnatural to say the least and is not healthy for anyone involved.
 
Nicely put. I see this barrier between us all and it seems so petty on the greater schemes of things. I have no hate in my heart for any color or belief. Opposite of your story, I am white and I grew up in a predominately black/Hispanic neighborhood and I have been able to relate to many cultures. From my immigrant Romanian friend in grade school, to my childhood Cubano friends, I don't see them differently nor do I judge them that way.

I think that if our land mass was still much of one piece, our species would have worked towards a common goal instead of killing each other off. Imagine if ONE jew out of all those millions who died had a revolutionary idea or invention that could have changed the world but never had a chance to self actualize due to it's own kind limiting him/her.

Of course. Had the continents not split, the dinos would probably have continued. The bipeds would look down upon the quadrupeds, except of course the Brachiosaurs. They would look down upon everybody, even those six-ton toothy chickens with bad breath. cn
 
On a more serious note, a continent is a big place. Racism was practiced by tribes/groups within each continent upon other tribes/groups from that same continent. The only one for which I can't claim this declaratively is Australia. its human history is perhaps 50 millennia deep ... but we don't know that story. cn
 
I tend to concur.

I also hold great hope that within the next few centuries we will be able to respecify our nature(s). cn

The way I imagine it is by extrapolating from our current primitive beginning forays into genetic engineering. Some futurists have decided that there will be a technological singularity based on trends in information management. Pah, say I. The real revolution will be direct conscious feedback into the substrate of our consciousness. That will be the next Cambrian explosion, and we are the progenitors. cn
 
Great feedback guys, I didn't have a solid answer, just a theory. I understand that it's almost instinct to not accept/like something that is different to us. But, I realize now that we may not have even come into existence without the shifting of the continents.

I think what you meant to say is if there wasn't an ice age causing walkways over oceans in the northern hemisphere and droughts in the southern hemisphere causing oceans to dry up making travel possible. Pangea splitting was a little before our time.. If we never left Africa their wouldn't be racism cause we would all still be black. If stuff like this is interesting to you watch Human Family Tree by National Geographic.. Pretty cool documentary.
 
I myself don't believe in racism... I believe that humans of different Colors and/or sex are a bunch of cry babies that want you to feel sorry for them. Deep down inside, they only act like that because they hate themselves.
 
What does the continents slpitting have to do with racism? We are different because different alien races populated different parts of the world. It is all that makes sense. The THEORY of evolution is idiocracy.

Watch the Ancient Aliens series on the History Channel. It will blow you away.
