R.H. curing, trouble.

If your room \R.H is stuck at 80 % . Would this be the reason my buds are not curing and taste dank? ( at this point there dry to the touch and spongey, smokable after in a dry box with full fan action for 2-3 days. )


I understand you need 55-65 % RH for proper curing.

Would i have to lower the RH of the whole room ? Because if the jar RH is 60% lets say, when i pull the nugs out of the jar will the nugs get moistened in the 80% RH air of the room??

Cuz my nugs wont cure up nice and i cant get the RH in the room Lower than 80% .. does this make sense??

It is confusing when you say your buds taste "dank". That would indicate a positive quality, I think you mean to say rank. Also how on earth are you even drying your bud in a room with 80% RH? That is your first issue, you can't even worry about curing your bud if you can't even provide an ideal environment for your bud to dry in. So you are correct, having your buds in a 60% RH jar is pointless because when you remove the bud from the jar, as you said in the other thread, there is an equilibrium between the room's RH and the jar's RH which will cause the bud to take up moisture and remain wet and spongy. This is also a problem in a very dry climate, 60% RH jar, yet when you take the bud out and let it sit in a room with RH of 15%, then it will rapidly dry out and turn to powder.

It absolutely makes sense, and your only solution is to get a dehumidifier, get an ideal drying environment, then when placing the buds into jars use one of the RH packs that regulate it at 63%.
