Quiet fans

So I have to move my set up around cos I had a new roommate move into the room that has the grow (Ive known him for ages and he was the only guy apart from my other roommate who knew about my grow so no issues with privacy or anything) but he has his gf around a lot and shes bitching about the noise. So were moving the grow into a wooden cupboard from the tent its in because wood is better as an acoustic insulator and also looking for a new fan. I was looking at getting a vortex because the fan we have atm is the 5" version of this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Orchid-Mixed-flo®-Extractor-Hydroponic/dp/B00IMCSGRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455532638&sr=8-1&keywords=black+orchid+mixed+flow which is massive overkill so I have it running at about 30% capacity to keep things quiet. So its not an issue of noise from the motor but rather the actual fan blades which make a slight ticking noise which is fucking frustrating. But either way I looked around through the forums and got some ideas but a lot of the stuff was stuff im already doing (like the fan is in a box and stuff as well) so I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of either how to silence the ticking or if anyone knows of a good fan I can get in the uk, right now I'm looking at getting a vortex sent over from the states which would cost £70-£100 just for shipping so if I can avoid that at all I will.

TLDR - Fan makes a ticking noise and I need to try and get it silent, either that or find a good alternative preferably one thats availible in the UK

Thanks for the ideas guys ill look into the hyper fans and max fan pro
Btw. Wood is a terrible sound insulator. More like an amplifier. That's why they use them for speaker cabinets.
Pretty sure that depends on the type of wood doesnt it? Cos ive made boxes to silence things like my old shop vac before out of MDF and it did a pretty good job, the cupboard I got is made of some kinda composite chipboard which isnt great but it was hella cheap and I didnt have money to really dosh out when I got it so it is what it is. So long as its solid and I dont have any fans or anything touching the actual wood I'm hoping it'll be ok. I duno if I really have enough space in the cupboard to insulate it properly with foam board which is pretty much the only other option I can think of to make it more silent, also if I were to look for another cabinet what would you suggest if not a wooden cabinet?

Yeah I know man it sketches me out a lil bit not going to lie but the place where I live with the amount I grow and the fact that its all personal use means that the worst I get is a fine which isnt too bad, also I have good relationships with my neighbours and stuff and never get any complaints about anything either (which helps convince cops here that its not worth bothering to prosecute even just for the fine). But yeah I'm moving soon and leaving the grow to my roomie so soon ill be out of the equation anyway and it'll be purely his problem to deal with if it becomes one. All that said I still hear you and probably would rather do it but I promised that room to him ages ago cos he was in a tiny room and that room is much bigger so ill have to see how things go when she comes around next after its all set up and then see if I need to be in there

Just for future reference I used a RVK sileo 125E fan and it worked great, kept my temps down to 23C and I could run it at about half speed so it was almost totally silent, the wooden cupboard also made it a lot quieter cos although it might amplify bass a fair bit I could no longer hear the ticking of one of my air movement fans nor the sound of air going through the ducting so it did a way better job than the tent and I hung everything from the top of the cupboard. We also tried out acoustic ducting just because we bought it before we put it all together and we ended up tossing it all in the bin because it made next to no difference and the fiberglass insulation in the ducting was far from pleasant and smelt of rotting fish for some reason even after we sealed it up with foil tape. But yeah if anyone is thinking their tent is a bit loud I'd go for a proper solid cupboard, so long as you can hang the fan off the top with bungy cords like @vostok suggested it'll be way better.
