How early can I top my seedling, their about 2" and on their 3rd node, think that'll work?

eh, a little soon IMO.

I don't ever top my plants until the week before I switch them over to 12/12.

But, again.. that's just how I personally do it.

IMO, if I were you.. I would wait a little bit before topping.

i waited till my fifth node personally...it was right around two inches tall at the time i think

topped 2 different strains at 4 or 5 nodes less than a week ago. stripped off the bottom & etc, etc...the 2 seeds seem to still be growing & recovering well. just waiting for them to root so i can sex them
