Im about to harvest my first crop, and was wondering whats the quickest way to quickdry a bud to smoke? Im out completely, and would like to try it anyways. I KNOW it wont be top quality/taste good at all. But Ive heard something about putting it in the oven for a little, or microwave? Any suggestions?

if you do any of the above to your harvest, i hope you never post on this site ever again. and i pray no one ever helps you... knowing that their guidance over the duration of your grow was only going to be thrown in an oven because of a chemical addiction.

The only way I quick dry any bud is baking it in the sun with tinfoil. I take some bud, cut it into small pieces, wrap it in a tiny piece of tinfoil and let it sit in the sun for a few hours. I've tried all the other ways and you most often end up with a headache and wasted some, otherwise, good bud. Then open it up and let it air out for about an hour or so. This is a slower dry and it actually tastes half decent. Otherwise I don't suggest quick drying. I only use this when I am desperate for some smokables....just to tie me over.

I thought it was harsh too. I mean, who hasn't tried lots of different means of quick dry. I certainly have. Some of them good but most of them not but that's how we all find out what works for each of us. I'm certainly pinching samples now and again. It's so hard NOT too.

Yes a purist, that select few who are better than the rest, Don't listen it him. People with still help you and we hope you continue to post. Why is it there is always some guy or girl, but mainly guy, that wants to harsh on someone for being eager, new, uninformed, or just trying something different. What ever happened to " can't we all just smoke a bong". Stoners/Potheads/Reefers are supposed to be relaxed mellow people not Angry and mean.
Dude if you want to sample your weed quickly, even if it is because you are out and in a hurry, The oven door is a nice one, I also liked the tinfoil in the sun method. But remember if you are in a true hurry you could always just clip the leaves and smoke it straight. I may not taste like what you are used to but if the weed is good it will get you high.

Whether its for pain relief, bad day relief, good day into a great day, better sex, better art, or better music we all smoke to get high, the flavor is a side note, just like drinking beer. I've drank plenty in my time and It wasn't because of the taste is was for the buzz.

I would set it up in three stages. Water cure about 1/2oz so you have some GOOD smoke in a week.
Dry enough to get you by for a week in the oven. Maybe a 1/4oz or so and leave the rest to dry out normal.
My last batch I went out and bought an oz right when I harvested. That way I would keep my grubby little hands off of it this time. Payed off in dividends, the shit is SOOOOOOOOOO good if you wait. nothing like I've ever bought in the past.

ANYWAY- i have tried quick drying bud in many dif ways and FOR ME it has not really worked, just gave me a headache. other people have dif results. personally if i want to sample, ill cut a little branch, hang it until the stem "snaps" (usually 2-4 days) and then cure for just one day or even half. its not as good as bud cured longer but it does the trick and no headache. you gotta experiment and figure out what method works for you.

oh and as far as a chemical addiction... its proven that weed is NOT physically addicting. it can be pyschologically addicting, but so can anything, tv, sex, online games, etc etc.

comming from the pro of 'sampling buds' before harvest, i have found that the best way to quick dry the wet planty bud, is to steam dry it. get an ordinary microwaveable plastic container. put a dry piece of kitchen towel, maybe torn in half, on the bottom of the container, then chop a few buds to a smallish size so it dries out quicker, therfore keeping more un-evaporated thc in the spliff, and then place the buds on the paper towel. Next, wet two paper kitchen towels and dry them out so they are not dripping, but slightly wet. it helps if they are attached when wetting them! now poke a hole or two in the paper towels which you have placed over the buds, and put the lid about 3/4 the way on.
Put in the microwave and 'cook' for one minute.
take everything out and dry any moisture that will be in the container.
get the other, dry torn half of the paper towel and put the drier but still moist buds on it.
make sure the paper towels are still wet and do the same thing as many times as you need to until you are happy. steam dried bud actually tastes nice, smooth and gets you very stoned. you should try it.
Put in the microwave and 'cook' for one minute.
take everything out and dry any moisture that will be in the container.

for testing purposes of a new plant i put a few buds in tinfoil in the oven at 170, with door cracked open a bit. leave that on for 20 minutes or half hour, or until the bud is close to dry enough to smoke. then i wrap it in newspaper and place it under a light for another hour or two.
great way to test without killing too much of the THC, but in reality you'll have to wait to crop the entire plant and dry it for atleast a week.

dont try anythin to quick dry your buds,i tried it once and wasted a 1/8 in the mircowave.it jus tasted like warm plant and beans.betta 2 wait

Try 2 days between newspaper, then sweat for 4 hours in a tight baggie then 4-6 more hours between nespaper be sure to remove bigger stem and trim first. will still taste a lil green but you get a great idea of the high, Congrats
