Hello to all my cannabis companions. I've done over 20 or so, outdoor grows but I'm starting my veryfirst indoors . I have a 175 w hps light n I'm lookin into a florecent light set up any ideas. My babys live in a closet with a very simple vent system. Cheap n affordable for someone who only makes 9$ n hour lol NJ kinda sucks lol. Anyways I'm lookin for any help to grow my girls in a 5' L X 3' W X 6'High <-- jus like me. Anyways I'm sure y'all have answerd similar questiond to this but I rather not skim thre 1456786543 posts to end up at the same point I started at. Thanks for any help NJ's finest.

Aslo if it helps any, I jus got some regs nuttin special till I got my grow room/closet set up real well. I'm usin a peat moss , perlite, and soil mix I've been using for years. I'm only 20 but I've been growin outdoors since I was 15 so I have a rough idea of what's a good mixture for my babies. All my yeilds have been close to a pound once dried and cured for only a couple plants . I might not be a nub to growin but indoors is a whole diffrent world wen I have to factor in all the diffrent stage n lumins n wat not. I usueually get the schultz plant food 10-15-10 for and use it to the flowring stage n then switch my soild fert. To bout 7-5-5 n seem to have no prob wit nute difficency or leave curl. Idk with me its kinda jus go with wat the baby girls like but I'm really lookin for some expert advice from people that have indoor grow experience. Thanks for any help and sorry bout any mispells. See I'm baked morew than ur grandmas batch of brownies.

I wouldn't expect a pound on your indoor grows for awhile. lol If it was me, I'd just use that HPS for the entire grow, and add maybe a four pack of 6500K CFL's around the sides.

Thanks . Yea ima try the sea of green technique once I get my lightin situation figured out. Anyways with the flouros do I need a certain type of fixture for them or could I use somethin cheap suchas a fishtank hood or shoplight lined with somethin reflective like
Mylar or even foil?

I kno they say when determining the size pot that u grow in should b bout 1 gallon per foot of plant . I have a 10 gallon rubber maid
Bin. Is it possible to grow two plants in it and they become healthy mature plants or would they battle to the death and I'm the real
Looser in the end?

I've seen it done successfully, and then I've seen it happen that one plant strangled out the other. Your best bet is to buy seperate containers. Always cheap options, though - I bought three gallon buckets from Walmart, and drilled holes in the bottom - $1.50 each.

So if I'm only lookin for 3 foot plants then id only need a 3 gallon container per plant? Yea one of my friends plants killed another one due to space limitations. Thanks for ur help. N I'm surprised ur the only one who posted on this .

You may also want to read up on the mh during the flower but MOST of the flower light is hps as u know. I run a 400 switchable hps/mh and give the girls 8hrs hps and 4-5 hrs mh each day. I started at 14 growing out side and was Joey Pot Seed planting every where. Good olddays of throwing the frisbi in the field watching the girls grow by the irrigation ditch. I'm 40+ now and yeild enough good weed to have fun.

175watt light will grow one plant to full potential if its not a big sativa. for more yeild out of your closet build a scrog screen.

Yep. a three gallon container works great for my plants, and they always finish out between three and four feet.

Id take pics but the hps lights do not agree wit my camera. I got an afghan hopefuly a girl he/she looks good nice healthy green and no signs of nute burn. Ima wait another 25-30 days b4 I change the light cycle for flowering

As of now my plants are doin good except a couple have holes being formed in some of the leaves. Any idea of what they could b from ? They are small no bigger than the tip of a pen and are yellow in color I dnt have a good camera so can anyone tell from my description? Thanks for any sugguestions.

Also I've been lookin on how to properly "top" my plants but I cnt seem to find anythin with pictures or anythin descriptive in simple text. I dnt wanna try anythin without knowin how to properly do it and end up destroyin my plants.

For topping, look in the Advanced section - there's a topping thread stickied, by Uncle Ben, best topping thread around. For your plants - if you actually have holes in them, something is eating them - check 'em with a fine tooth comb and find out what it is, before more serious damage occurs.

I've been keepin an eye out for bugs and rodents we don't have either as far as I'm aware. I look at the plants almost 3 times a day with a 60x electronic magnifier from radio shack n have never seen bugs . I'm not saying that I can't b a possibility that's what's eating them but could it b somethin plant related ? .

I haven't seen anything yet, that actually makes holes in the leaves, that doesn't have a bug behind it - but that doesn't mean there isn't something. If you can take a couple closeups of the leaves, I would post the problem in the Plant Problem section, let some of our plant docs look at it.

I wish I had a good camera for a close up , more detailed picture. It looked like mayb necrosis of some sort but luckly it didn't spread through out the plants that were effected. Iwish I had more info but I only get wat I can see with my eyes. I tried determing the sex of the plants by switchin the light cycle to 12/12 for about 2 weeks but they didn't reveil anything neither male or female . I've looked through some of the threads on this topic but everythin I try doesn't seem to work. Are they hermies bc they didn't show either male or female traits ?
