Hey dude. You got your second grow going? I pulled 16 ounces 5 grams from mine. On my second now.
Still in the process man! Going for a SOG/Bubbleponics type setup. 40 clones, each vegged for 1 week and instantly flowered for roughly 2 months. Still need to grow the mothers out for healthy clone

Air pots work good. Air prunes the roots and doesn't get root bound as easy.
Yeah I was gunna use a 5 gal smart pot, don't want them to grow too big.

Can you keep a plant dormant or growing at a slow pace w/o deficiencys/illnesses? Surely a nice big healthy mother would need a little something more than a few CFLs to survive and stay healthy

No quick answer. Use a large pot so you get a large plant. If a plant has more room to grow it will take longer to veg. Top/FIM her early to keep the height down. Note: you can FIM side branches as well as main colas. Side FIM'ing will add more branches as potential clones.

All plants will start to flower even if left at 24/0 or 20/4 forever. Once your mom has started to flower move her to 12/12. During harvest keep a double-handful of greenery growing around the base of the plant. Instant re-grow! After harvest put her back to veg and do it all over again.

Good luck, BigSteve.
