Quick question for UK people.

Sorry if this is stupid but i cant work it out. Are CFL's the same as those energy saving bulbs you get that are 20w and lower.. because i cant seem to be able to find any in the U.K and when i do there this 4pin 2pin thing which ive never heard of. anyone no a cheap good site?

yeah i know what you mean getting the lighting and ventilation from a uk shop is near impossibe i have however found an ebay store which seems to havee everything you need for growing ill give the link a few moments

they are also launching there own website so it looks promicing i personally have gone for the 600 wts £245 grow tent i think this site only stocks hps or mh send him an email see wt you can get

i have bought many things from starfish on ebay and the service is great and combined postage so works out pretty cheap

M8 just go to any quid store and get your self a load of cheap clfs 150w each just them normal energy saving bulbs the 1s that will plug stight into a lamp fitting same shops ya should find clip on lamp sockets just clip them any were

They will do ya for vegging your plants ok but if u want budssssssss ya will need somthing a bit stronger even a 250 hps

I luv clfs for vegging it saves ya loads and does a very good job once u learn not to streach them

The quid stores r the best hydro shops about lol them hydro shops will charge u 15 quid for a pair of 50p sissors

yeah i agree with shoot2kill go to your local diy shop n get your cfl,s.. there excellent for veg. i use the strip lights for veg and rooting my cuttings and there doin great..

yeah, i didnt realise that those cheap energy saving bulbs were CFLS cos you can only get them in 20w MAX i think. Wilkinson's will do then, thats the closest cheap shop to me. I finally found a website that sold CFLS at 23W... they were £9 each ($18 )... what a rip off.
Well ive got strip lights for side lighting, just want some CFLS for everything really, since my parents r dead against drugs and they dont mind me growing one or two plants im not going push my luck and get a HPS and increase their electricity bill by loads.. its unfair. cheers guys anyways.

Tried homebase and the like.

I bought my CFL from there

you need energy saving bulbs basically, minimum of 100w REAL per plant.

what that means is a 14w CFL will be labelled a 60w equivalent, 14w is its REAL wattage.

yh im gonna go to homebase and poundland tomorow to get soil and lights

i havent tried poundland yet cause i dont live close to one, if i travel soonish then ill check one out.

homebase is ok, pisses me off that they dont do screw fit bulbs anymore, well the adapters. but i got 2 x 30w warm CFLs yesturday from there for 50p each ($1) discontiuned stoke cos of the screw fitting. they produce 1900 lumens each so figure that would be cool for extra sidelighting in flowering.. or should i put one of now whilst vegging?
