Quick question about germinating

I germinated about 12 seeds using the cup of water method and only four successfully germinated as of day 4 in water now. The rest have swelled up considerably but haven't cracked open in any way.

What are my chances that at least some of the rest will germinate successfully now?

Should I leave them in the water for longer to see if they germinate?

OR

I read that the seeds also need oxygen.. now that they seem to have absorbed enough moisture should I just plant them in soil and hope for the best?

Thanks for any input!

how long ago did they swell up? i know u said its been 12 days but how far into those 12 days was it?
It was 12 seeds for 4 days bro.
Your not supposed to leave them in water for that long, 1 day at most.
But plant them anyway as you have nothing to lose, doesn't sound good though.:leaf:

lol, oh, i see. they probally are alive still just having a bit of problems popping the shell open. next time put a drop of hydrogen peroxide in the water. 4 days isnt too bad, just put em in the soil.

So it's okay to just plant the seeds in soil without them cracking first? They are pretty swollen up after all and definitely did respond to the water..

those beans have been underwater for four days wow I hope they did not drown

anyway i been at it for 6 months and what i do is

step one soak overnight all steps on heating pad next day cracked ones go in soil uncracked go to

step two dump water replace with peroxide overnight soak once again split to soil un to

step three folded napkin process for about 3-4 days if nothing happens i start

step four scarcification i use all diff process i have split at the seam with razor, squeezed, sanpapered, and picked the seal off it is like a cover over the crack that splits i pick that off with blade then back between napkins ( I get about 50 % of remainders from step three this way)

but i never just soak for more then two days underwater

normally step two takes me to about 75 or 80 %

once i reach step four i go at it like i have nothing to lose no more baby shit

luck to you bro

Okay so I've planted all of them.. won't be too disappointed if they don't grow as I left them in water for too long..
