Quick lighting question that probably deserves a stupid answer

Okay,

So my white skunks after 4 days from seed in root riot cubes bade a huge shot to the light today. There almost 4 inches tall. (their tiny little true leaves are even showing) I moved the from the dark germ room under some extra 4 foot 40W run of the mill home depot fluorescent grow tubes that I have my regular garden plants growing under. (regular i mean basil, tomato, peppers) The skunks this morning were showing the first signs of "the bends" until I put them under the flouros and the straightened right up by the end of lights off.

I know as an experienced regular grower that I keep the tops of the plants about 2 to 4 inches away from the tubes to stop the plants from getting leggy and spindly.

Here's my concern. I have in the past bleached delicate leaves to death keeping them that close to stop them from "the bends". Some plants would make it, some wouldn't. I'm wondering if starting this morning if it's OK to get the skunks that close without risk of bleaching since they are already 4 inches tall or so? Or if it's better to keep em backed off to 4 to 6 inches away and just support them if they start to lean?

They are in a hot house to keep the humidity up and their true leaves are tiny, but have that all to familiar spiked edge, if that helps to provide an answer.

I'll give em a whack on 2 to 4, got the day off tomorrow, so ill keep a close eye on em. I would just hate to bleach em since they are the last of my seed supply, till that fat ol tax refund comes in.
