1) When you switch over to 12/12 is that when you start counting your flowering time or is it once they begin to show sex?

2) I got HH. No good way around it for me. Uninsulated detached garage with exhaust fans in the roof, 15A breaker going to garage, place is a rental so cant run another electric line. On that note I have two 4x8 tents running 12/12 consecutively. Each has about 900w worth of LED lights (Tent 1: Quantum Boards $800)(Tent 2: DIY LED Lights $120) and the wattage used in the garage stays around 1400w (everything runs through the kill-a-watt). When 12 hours are up on Tent #1, the light power gets redirected to Tent #2. My fans and everything else run 24/7. I'm in the Southeastern US so temps this time of year are around 80 - 90F and humidity usually runs 70 - 80%. I have a 6" AC Infinity fan and carbon filter in each tent to move as much fresh air though as possible but my humidity stays about the same in my tents as it is outside.

So I am trying to fix the PM and bud rot issues I know I will have by:

a) Growing lots of small 12- 36" plants in a SOG (hempy 2Ls) with no veg time at all. Doing this to try and get 4 harvests per year.
b) Keeping the AC Infinity fans running 24/7 at full speed.
c) Lots of defoliating starting at week 3.
d) Running a high velocity, oscillating tower fan in each tent.

These Lasko tower fans move a LOT of air through the plants and the plants grow very thick stalks from the start as they get used to the wind. I have heard that high wind was bad for plants and too much fan was a bad thing. Granted I am only about 4 weeks into this grow but as of right now I am seeing no damage to the plants other than they seem to not stretch as much and develop thick main stalks.

What do you guys think? I'm a newb and this is my first grow. I was told by lots of smart people on the forums not to get a 4x8 tent and go smaller while learning. What do I do? I bought two 4x8 tents and decided to go crazy. I don't listen very well but I do read everyone's suggestions and try to learn as much as possible.

You’re already doing it. Your first grow, 100 too many plants or so, sounds like a good way to start. You’ll learn a lot from this one so just do it and experience. That’s my advise. You’ll most certainly do it differently next time, we always do ;)

Where do you plan to put all those plants when they need to be transplanted into larger pots? You are pretty much forcing yourself into having to do a SOG grow so I'd start readin gup on that, like yesterday, because SOG grows need to be flipped into flower early.

Count from flip if you want to count.

Shit aint a problem til its a problem.

If you do have a problem with airflow you can always run more fans at lower speed.
Or I used to like 16" wall mounted oscillating fans mounted on ceiling pointing down in 4x8 tents.
Takes up no floor space and covers the whole tent. Though my lights were cob bars and QB kits so they didn't block the airflow.

Perpetual grow. They will all be staying in there. I will be running 12/12 from start to finish to keep them small.

Good idea. May try that is the wind tunnel I have now doesn't do a good enough job.

In a SOG like mine do most people trim the lower branches off to get one main cola? I was considering doing that but I don't want to compromise my yield so I figured I'd ask first.
