I think I'm gonna have to make the Monday run to the Tree House a regular event. The Blue Head OG is very nice, and the SSSDH is great also, very cerebral high. Thanks for growing such nice buds for us.

Hey guys. i want to run a small scrog in a 2x2 closet under a 600w MH/HPS. I have had great results in organic soil. However this last run i grew a few clones in DWC and the growth was explosively fast. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas on how to get this kind of growth in a different medium. (my problem with DWC is that i wouldnt be able to change the rez once the plant was in the screen) I have seen good results from people in coco. Is the growth faster in coco then soil? How is the quality? Any other opinions on this subject?

Coco is closer to hydro, i feel it can lack taste if not properly done, but i am sure there are many who disagree. I personally use roots with extra perlite (i do 3 parts roots 2 parts perlite, 1 part earth worm castings and amend from there) and the faster drying time of the soil allows me to feed more often and pull more out of each plant. Ebb and flow is another one to look at, can just grow in straight perlite, or many many other mediums.

if you like how the DWC ran, it can be done with your setup - just use your existing pump (or buy one specifically for pump draining), but add a T shut off valve - this way you just pump out the old into an external container and dispose of it how you will.

I had posted once that 6 plants were not enough , Someone told me that if I used enough light I could get plenty because I’d get a higher yield , I thought that was cool . Found this while reading up on lighting , think I understand it now but have a question .

The example below shows that with a 1,000 w bulb I could expect 672 grams , If I put 600 w in the formula I could expect 403 grams . Here where I lose it , If I grow one plant in that 10.7 sq ft I get 672 , If I grow two plants in the 10.7 sq ft do I still only get 672 grams ?

Approx Dry Weight *per M[SUP]2[/SUP] = 0.001 x watts x flower light period x days in flower
Example of Cannabis Harvest Forecast Formula:
0.001 x 1000watts = 1 x 12 hours of light x 56 days = 672 grams (1.4 pounds) *per M[SUP]2[/SUP]

you can only fill the space with so much plant material, this is where your limiting factor will be. 6 plants can be enough, but you need (a) enough light (b) enough space. a single 2' cannabis plant may yield 2 ounces, where the same strain @ 6' tall may produce a pound (454 grams). but that 6' plant takes up a lot of space (horizontally and vertically) and needs a lot of light to produce high yields. outdoors these factors are rarely an issue, so you'll see a 6' produce a pound+ (i've seen 8-12 footers put out several pounds each outdoors).

*oops didn't *completely* answer that one. 1 plant or 20 in that space, you will only get 672. of course there are many factors involved, but this is the simple answer

Never ever try to guess what you are going to get prior to harvest.
These numbers are just guesses if you come right down to it, too many other factors involved.
Just try to get things dialed in as possible, but every harvest will yield differently.

Thanks that cleared that up , all my life I’ve enjoyed growing plants , but never grew plants inside , I’m going to enjoy doing this . One more question , I’ve been watching that Discovery series on MM and watched how they smell the buds and say how good they smell and I’ve read where people will say how bad they smell , do certain strains really stink and others don’t ? Or are there certain times during the growing period that the odor is bad regardless of what plant you grow ?
