I agree,ive tried super thrive & cant say one way or the other weather it worked,i tested it in various side by side tests & say no real discernable difference but being that each plant allways has different yeilds its hard for me to be exact.

The whole subject of plant hormones is hard to understand even for those educated in botany,one application of a certian hormone may produce excellerated growth, while another application of the same hormone will stunt growth, or cause deformed growth patterns,i think even the highly educated botanists struggle to understand exactly what role hormones play in plant growth patterns.

Ive spent quite a bit of time experimenting with different hormones in various applications,ive pulled off some amazing results using hormones as well as some utter failures with the exact hormone,its been hit & miss for me,never a sure thing & allways confusing results when doing comparison grows,i gave up on experimenting with them due to the wildly variating results in side by side plant grows.

I hope nobody in this thread thinks im an expert on plant hormones because i am not,i just happened to have spent some time tinkering around with them & doing some research on hormones,im still confused as fuck about the whole subject .

If B-1 doesn't help root growth then why does it say that it does?

yea hormones are quite confusing, some dont work without other hormones so you could use a really good hormone and it could have failing results because it is part of what should be a system, some things need other things to work and prevent root lockup.

its deffinately a wierd area of descution and study.

no i was talking about all the other info he listed the page befor, sorry. and thats not the question he asked, of course something made for root growth is going to help roots grow, he wants no know the effect of rooting hormone, for rooting clones and such, would work.

Products like willow extract are great for cloning but they do add to the confusion about hormones,to be proper a product that is made from willow extract is not a hormone,its a rooting agent.

Im pointing this out for clarification not to nit pick,some rooting agents have real plant growth hormones in them.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I guess you can tell that some landscapers are from the old school then because when I had my front yard re-landscaped, the guy who did it (he was a professional, not a guy from the corner at the nursery) he used B1 for all the plants that were planted into the landscape. He was calling it "medicine". I wasn't sure what he meant by that so I asked him and he showed me.

I'm not saying I disagree with PanHead. I'm sure he's accurate. Sounds like he does his research.

I do think that "Take Root" definitely works though.

yep, there are a shitload of apropriate hormones in willow branches, if you cut a branch off a willow tree and plant it it will grow roots just like weed.

So are you saying, based off your last part of the quote, that the branches and weed would have somewhat of an equivalent rooting hormone on their own? If they grow about the same, wouldn't using willow branches to improve rooting be negligable(sp?)

well i fanally got my outdoor supplys i got regular fertilizer 12-12-12 and some nutralime and some 9-7-1 bone meal i got the fertilizer and nutralime (lime with some nutes) for my grow plot i'm going to grow 3 plants per plot and i'm going to have 6 plots scattered around my county its all country and woods i'm going to have 3 in grassland and 3 in the bright parts of my woods and finally i got the bone meal for when my girls go into flower for my water i am going to collect rain water to bring to my plots in water jugs but i also will take them back so i wont draw attention in the air and i allready have bug and animal repelants for my plants so they wont be eaten i will keep everyone updated

k i guess i shouldnt be using the tirm "hormone" anymore, its an agent. the plants that have the ability to clone like weed have theyre own hormones they make, rooting agents are what willow trees and weed and other plants like that have that do the same thing, on a good tall clone you will notice that the middle is like wood, to root this hard woody part has to soften enough to let roots through, any amount of a boost of this agent would help along rooting.

willow branches create the rooting agent by themselves, most people use a chemical or synthetic rooting formula which is stronger.

olivias is organic tho so as soon as i find mine i will tell you what is on the bottle...
