Hey guys and girls,

So I've decided to make some INSANE bud butter. I've used 2lb of butter and 14 grams of kiff (I have a wicka to make nice blonde hash). So I have it sitting in the croc pot now on low but when I mixed in the kiff it was so fine I thought it would dissolve into the butter, but when I use a spoon to scoop some out, I get see the triclomes floating around as if they didn't bond at all. Basically my question is, do I strain it or not? I've used pure kiff, ZERO bud, like not even a red hair. So do I still use the sponge cloth like you would do if you had cooked it using bud? Like I'm thinking if I leave it in it'll get me a lot higher, but it will be... I guess the best word would be "gritty". If I strain it out I'm straining out pure straight up kiff.

Please suggest, to strain or not to strain... It will be done in the croc pot in about 4 or 5 hours.

THANKS!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG4N_d7BveY this is the only method you need to make sweet buttttttttttttttttta
That has nothing to do with my setup. That video is of a guy making it with bud on a stove, mine is using staight kiff has already been in the croc pot for 2 hours now.

By the way anyone who dosn't know what kiff is, it's the strong powdery stuff you get if you sake it over a very fine mesh screen (also in the bottom of most grinders)

Hi,

Quick question: Is the water and keif mixture in water?

Do you have a way of gauging the temperature of the mixture in the crock pot? For the THC to bond to the butter, you need to be cooking it around 392ºF or above. If you are unable reach that high of a temperature in the crock pot, I would transfer the mixture to a pot and boil it on the stove.

However, if whatever reciepie you're going to use calls for the food to be baked in the oven, you could probably go without straining. Though 16g of keif is a significant amount (these brownies are going to rock your world btw lol), I would consider just leaving it unstrained as to ensure maximum THC levels. Also, I think weed-baked goods taste way dank. Anywho, if you go this route, you might want to add slightly more butter (or possibly add water) than the directions call for to compensate for all the keif.

I just measured it with a meat thermometer that only goes up to 200 and it read 190 in my croc pot. I just turned the temp on the croc pot to high but I really don't want to burn my butter at all. These in no water in the mix, just butted, kiff and a croc pot. Its been in the croc pot on low heat for about 4 hours now. I just flipped it to high and I will just watch it a lot closer. Its started to form a foam around the top now, it just started doing that in the last hour or so. I just keep on stirring it.

And I damn well hope these brownies rock my world... that's a lot of friggin kiff to waste if they don't :D

If I were you, I would consider adding water to the mixture and boiling it on the stove. Check out the link in my sig

I turned the croc pot to high and its boiling now, your sig just said it needed to pass 100C which it definatly has (my therometer goes to 90 but it shot right past that) that and obviously the boiling point is 100C

so I compromised, I used a filter as in AR's sig suggests. It caught a lot of the brown looking kiff, but also let the smaller particles through, I poured it into a cake pan so if all the kiff settles at least each chunk of butter will be of the same strength. 4 hours of boiling, 8 hours cooking in total should make some dank butter, looks and smells good at least
