so ive had my first grow the yield was good but the quality was not so much lol
im thinking its cause they were heat stressed most of there life

so now im looking into ventilation
my closet is 4 feet wide x 3 feet deep x 5 1/2 feet tall

first question would be : would these suck out enough air for my space? heres a link below.. says its its 300 cfm *500 cfm booster flow what ever that means

second question: whats the best way to do this? i was thinking one hole in the ceiling with some flexible ducting and that fan connected to bottom sucking the hot air from up top of the closet(since heat rises) out into the attic. or is that not very efficient

sorry im pretty lame with all this venting stuff so any ANY info would be much appreciated
thanks

Yes, that should be good heat extraction fan and the method you want to use would be fine.

Depeding upon how much humidity there is in your grow room it could cause mold issues in your attic.

If possible i would try and vent it completely out of the attic if possible just to be certain.

You are also going to need a carbon filter attached to remove the smell. The last thing you need is people around your house smelling what you are doing.

Remember DONT TELL DONT SMELL and DONT SELL if you dont want to get caught.

like just run the ducting all the way to vent ontop of my roof from the attic?

sheesh i dont wanna go up there lol but i want to vent this heat so ill do what needs to be done

so im trying to get this all figured out. a simple 8 or 6 inch hole in middle of ceiling in closet, take ducting and squeeze it threw the hole, then go up to attic run it to closest exhaust vent, zip tie it close to it and what not. do i need to put a screen so nothing trys to go down the vent?

and having the ducting come out a couple inches from the ceiling connect fan and good to go

if i got a lil carbon filter how would i toss it into the mix

sorry i know this is alot of shit newb questions about ventilation but im really lost on this subject and dont want to do all this and have it not work how i would like it to

so thanks for everything

a carbon filter will reduce the effectiveness of your fan by around 20%.

ITs not just the neighbours you have to worry about its general people walking by.

You could run your ducting into your stench pipe if you have one and allow all the smell and hot air to go down your drains and into the sewerage system.

BUt if you have cast iron stench pipe then this will not be a viable option as you wont be able to cut into it. If it plastic on the other hand you could do it fine.

I have seen people put an actual shower vent on their roof just for their exhaust to go through so that to average joe or MR FUZZ it looks just like a shower vent would that was coming out of the roof. Once installed correctly the shower vent will stop any back run of condensation as long as you insulate the ducting work through the attic as cold temps during winter etc can cause condensation in the ducting and this can then cause run back of water into your grow room and mess with humidity.

well my roof already has a few top exhaust vents

so im just going to get about a 2-3 feet of ducting cut the hole insert ducting halfway and put that fan in at the bottom
lol id rather try to suck some heat out with a janky way then to keep it in there :neutral:
thanks for all your help
:peace:
