Question about the law

I can't really seem to understand the law on this one. I want to grow in another persons house with my caregiver card. The reason the other person can't grow is because they have not been a resident for 1 year. So question is, could I move my grow in their basement with my cards? Will he get in trouble? There is a cop living across the street, so I don't want any problems down the road..

He doesn't have to be a resident for
a year to be a patient or caregiver.
From LARA's website:

An applicant/patient must be a Michigan resident to be registered in the Michigan Medical Marihuana Program (MMMP). Proof of residency is defined as a 1) Michigan Driver License, 2) Michigan Identification Card, or 3) other approved photo ID and Michigan voter registration card. Approved photo IDs are listed in the Administrative Rules, Section 3(b).

All situations are different but if it was me, I wouldn't
grow at a friends house.

Also, if something did go wrong legally speaking, you
would want to be able to prove that he had NO access
to the garden in his own home.

Where did I read the 1 year thing.. I thought they changed it to having to be a resident for a year. In that case, I can just have him get his card and we will be fine. Cool.

just from prior experience I recommend telling your friend you changed your mind and decided not to grow, then setup a site that ONLY you know about and keep it to yourself. do not broadcast that you are a grower, it only leads to problems down the road. I've had 2 partners on two separate occasions, both ended badly.
