Hell, I’m tempted to try it just for the hell of it; though I’m sure @Wisher2 and @Homie Da Clown and @Budley Doright would be the first to tell me to get my hydro grow straight first *lol*
Well here is my thoughts. If you got the money to spend, I teach you to use any median there is, from coco to Rw, to Current cultures $5000 UC system.. So if you want to buy a bag of coco and some 1 gal pots since your a newbie, because that fella up above that said you better have your game on with automatic watering in small pots, was dead on the head with that! So even tho I use 1/2 gal pots and water multiple times a day, 1 gal would be better for someone less skilled, or lapsing a timer controlled dtw system..You got to really get the run off correct with Sun tea feeding and routine checks of the coco for salt build up when your in small 1/2 gal pots...
So if you got the money and dont mind get slapped around by learning another new median, then by all means, get er done.
And your cns17 and +life will work perfectly with your coco... im kinda funny about my coco as I like course coco, with no peralite, and I use House & Garden from the Netherlands, but I just dont care for the brick stuff that looks like a kilo of 80's brown Mexican dirt weed.

Um, then water would count ... yes??? :bigjoint:
Yes but a small dwc solo cup isnt realistic. But 8n coco Really you just force the plant to get rootbound as fast as possible, then put the solo cup on a continueos drip during lights on. A drop every sec if that is what you can do, with a final run off flush every evening right before lights out. You will win that solo cup challenge, go for it! Grow 8 nodes, and then remove the 2 top set of fan leaves. Wait 2 weeks and flip...remove any secondary branches coming off of main branches and lollipop up every branch leaving just 3 nodes at 2 weeks flower...
Then tell me what you think............................................

Is it soil? or coco? sry I cant tell and i didnt see it mentioned?
Soil/Pro-Mix, I use the same mix from cups to flowering, just keep up-potting normally. The one's I'd posted in the 1gal pots had just been finished up-potting from the cups, 3 weeks in the cups/soil. Growth rate doing them 12/12 from seed is a pain, some strains are better than others with it but I've never had a plant worth the hassles. I just run them in the contests for the kick. Only decent plant I've had doing 12/12 fs was a male - lol

Naw I dont get caught up in the competitions any more. I just dont have time or space for something like that. Im really trying to focus on making sure im the last one in this family that has to do this outlaw shit to make sure my family gets to grow up on the right side of the tracks....

If Wisher gets in you should have something beautiful to watch in the making...

Whats your feed schedule and regimen in the pro mix?

It's a cut of 50/50 soil/pro-mix so I don't feed much early on, maybe every 3rd watering in veg, depends on the strain/pheno. I use just A&B formula, typically around 350 ppm early on, up to 450 later in flowering.
See I was under the impression that big aggriculture fed multiple times a day in pro-mix. I realize you have a 50/50 mix with amended soil... Have you tried just pro-mix with multiple waterings?
Wisher didnt you grow a plant last year outside in pro mix with feedings every day????????

I already watch 6-8’ plants grow in 5 gallon bags ;). It’s not magical just lots more work is all.

Yeah it's different than growing in straight-up pro-mix. I tried a bunch of different things, initially when I went indoor I tried fully organic as that was how I grew outdoor for so many years but indoor I don't like bugs so I tried some other methods. Eventually settled on the 50/50 mix, basically less or no feeding early on which works well for me as it's a hobby and I have limited time for it. As I up-pot they get new medium so right through veg there's very little if any feeding needed, just any strains/phenos that need it or are finicky and low ppm's. Eventually after the stretch the medium is pretty well spent and at that point I treat it more like straight up pro-mix and feed every other watering or so.
